I grew up on the East Coast of Tassie and I have sweet memories of the Winter. Jumping through the wet grass of the sand dunes and running the beach to get hot before racing into the ocean for an icy swim.
Weād light a fire on the beach afterwards, to warm our popsicle fingers and then sit and enjoy that calm, alive feeling that comes after experiencing the discomfort of cold and then returning to warmth.
For the past 4 years, Iāve been escaping the Tassie Winter and Iāve been missing this precious season, that draws us inward and invites us to slow down and take stock of what has passed.
I know Winter can challenge us, but I also feel like itās one of the most beautiful times of year here. There is a clarity that arises, not only in the crisp, clear days, but in our minds.
The dust of the Summer season settles and we arrive into the darkness with more time to listen, feel and sense, both inwardly and outwardly, to the world around us.
In the darkness, the mystery is revealed and we remember that we are a part of something bigger.
It feels like a blessing to be home for Winter this year and not only home, but in service to the community, at a time when the act of nourishing the body, the breath, the psyche and the spirit can be so potent.
Iāll be visiting Hobart in June, July & August with some special offerings this Winter; a series of Breathwork Circles & 1:1 Ka Huna Bodywork sessions or the option for 1:1 Breathwork if thatās something youāre needing.
I look forward to seeing some of you soon & much love for the approaching Winter ~ may it be blessed with that feeling of sweet calm & aliveness, that comes from standing by the fire after an icy swim.
