Stella and Teege popped into Priceline Pharmacy Glenorchy to pick up our new first aid kits!

A big thank you to Aimee, who helped us put together the kits for our support workers to have with them while they’re out and about with our participants 🙌

It’s great knowing our team will have everything they need close by if those little bumps, cuts or unexpected moments pop up!

We’re super lucky to have some amazing people and businesses in our local community who support what we do. 💚

In honour of today being International Dog Day, we thought what better way to celebrate than to share some of the pups in the Happi Living team! 🐶 🐾

At Happi Living we’re a team of dog lovers and we’re so grateful for the joy (and laughs) dogs bring us every day! Dogs can also be an incredible source of support and companionship, with assistance dogs helping people with confidence, independence and everyday life.

Introduce your furry friend to us in the comments, we’d love to meet the dogs in our Happi Living community! 💚

This week is Brain Injury Awareness Week, and this year’s theme is ‘Many pathways, one community.’

Brain injuries happen in many different ways, and affect every person differently.

The impacts of a brain injury are not always immediately obvious from the outside. Someone may be experiencing challenges with memory, communication, movement, concentration, emotions or everyday independence without those challenges being visible to others.

This week is about better understanding those differences and recognising the people who support individuals living with brain injury, from family and friends to support workers and health professionals.

At Happi Living, we focus on understanding the person behind the support needs and working with them to build confidence, independence and a life that feels right for them.

We believe that accessing the right physical therapy shouldn’t mean juggling another provider.

That’s just one of the reasons we’re so excited to now be offering physical therapy here at Happi Living. Sessions are run by our physical therapy assistant Brodie in our onsite gym, following a custom-built plan from a qualified physiotherapist from Better State Physiotherapy.

Physical therapy helps participants achieve their goals whatever they may be, at a pace that feels right for them. No two programs look the same, and are built uniquely to the individual’s goals, fitness levels and abilities, helping to maximise progress (and enjoyment!). Are you or someone you know interested in accessing physical therapy as part of your support? Send us a message us or check out our website today!

Yesterday was Jeans for Genes Day! 👖💙

Our Happi Living team got into the spirit by wearing their favourite jeans to work to help raise awareness for an incredible cause. Jeans for Genes raises vital funds for research into genetic conditions that affect 1 in 20 Aussie kids, helping researchers better understand these conditions and work towards improved treatments and support.

At Happi Living, we believe every person’s story, abilities and support needs are unique. Days like Jeans for Genes Day are important because they help create greater understanding around the different conditions that can impact people’s lives. By increasing awareness and supporting research, we can continue working towards a more inclusive future where every person has the opportunity to be understood, supported and live their Happi-est life. 💚

The hardest part isn’t finding support. It’s finding a team that genuinely gets you. 💚

At Happi Living, we don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to support. That’s why we take the time to understand each person’s unique interests, goals, routines before carefully matching them with a support worker we believe is the right fit.

When the right people are matched together, genuine relationships form. This consistency and connection builds trust allowing progress to occur and true confidence to be built.

We believe the best support is not about filling time, it’s about empowering people to live their Happi-est lives by supporting their independence.

Congratulations to our drawing competition winners! 💚🎨

At our recent Happi Winter Fair we held a drawing competition, where we invited everyone to get creative and draw a picture of “what makes you Happi.”

Every drawing was thoughtful, colourful and completely unique, making it a very difficult job to choose our winners! After much deliberation, our team members Chloe and Molly, alongside Teege’s little sister Teal, selected 3 lucky winners across the different age groups. A huge congratulations to our 3 winners, who each received a $20 Smiggle voucher.

💚 Ivan (Age 11)
💚 Amity (Age 4)
💚 Cienna (Age 8)

A huge thank you to everyone who entered and came along to support us at the fair. We’re so lucky to have such a creative, kind and supportive community and we can’t wait for plenty more community events!

June and July have been busy here at Happi Living! 💚

Teege and Bear completed the Push-Up Challenge to raise money for mental. We hosted our very first Happi Winter Fair! The Happi team grew by 2 as we welcomed Callan and Molly to the team, and Stella started a new job at Hamlet Cafe.
Thank you so much to everyone who came along to the Winter Fair, donated, volunteered, and everyone who has continued to support us! Thanks to your generosity, we’ve raised more than $1,300 for Variety Tasmania and Push For Better! We couldn’t do what we do without our amazing participants, families and community. 💚

We’ve got plenty more exciting things in the works, so keep your eyes peeled! 👀

What’s been your favourite Happi Living memory from June and July? Let us know below! 👇
