Over the past fortnight, the students focused on the letters L and J. They sang phonics songs, practiced tracing, and made fun crafts to go with each letter, including paper-strip lions, paper lollipops, jets, and jellyfish.
In numeracy, the class learned about capacity by filling up different cups and buckets to see which ones held more or less. They also practiced putting daily routines in order, mapping out what they do from the moment they wake up until they arrive at school.
In Islamic Studies and Arabic, the students listened to stories about Prophet Ibrahim (a.s.) and Prophet Sulayman (a.s.). They made crafts showing the fire, the building of the Kaaba, an ant craft and an ant hill. They also spent time practicing the Arabic letter ط as well as revising the previous letters.
For science, the kids made their own bubble mix out of dish soap and sugar, then bent pipe cleaners into wands to test them out. They also tried a magic ink experiment where they wrote hidden messages using baking soda and revealed them using a turmeric mix.
