It is a pleasure to have Dr Sarang Paleri join the team at Cardiology Tasmania. I would go as far as to say that all of the cardiologists at the Royal Hobart Hospital remember Sarang fondly as an excellent registrar.
Dr Sarang Paleri is now a General Cardiologist, completing a Fellowship in Non-Invasive Cardiac Imaging (including Echocardiography and Coronary CT Angiography) at the Victorian Heart Hospital.
In addition to his clinical work, Sarang is pursuing a PhD at the Victorian Heart Institute, focusing on novel markers of tissue characterisation and high-risk plaque on Coronary CT Angiography.
In the picture, he is accompanied by one of our most senior and respected sonographers, Eswar Sivaraj, who has been pivotal in setting up outreach echocardiography services to rural areas. Eswar is also completing a PhD under the guidance of Professor Tom Marwick.
Our team is growing, and with it, the high calibre of services that we provide to the Tasmanian community.
Dr Paleri will be providing echo services between Melbourne and Hobart for the next few years, but will expand his scope of practice in Tasmania after completion of his PhD.
