Like everyone we’ve been noticing our costs increase pretty steadily over the past couple of years. It’s definitely getting tougher out there…every bill that comes in just seems to go up and up. Fuel has been a challenge, not just in our delivery run but also in the transport costs to bring the bananas down from North QLD. The changes coming tomorrow with the card surcharge is another one to navigate.
Until now we’ve been able to absorb the increases and hoped to stay at $2.50 until at least the end of the year, but the downside of having one core product is there’s only so many ways you can peel a banana! In the next week or so we’ll unfortunately need to adjust our everyday price to $3 per kg to ensure we can keep bringing you fresh bananas daily. We’re working on delivering some promos from time to time so keep an eye on the socials, hopefully when the time is right we can offer more positive news there.
We know everyone’s battling with grocery prices and interest rates/rent, and as much as we’d love to avoid an increase we need to make a change now to stay sustainable. A lot of local small businesses are navigating some tricky times at the moment - please support them where you can 🙏🏼
