10,000 Toes The 10,000 Toes Campaign is Turning the Tide on diabetes and other diseases across the South Pacific. Specifically these are:
1.

South Pacific nations have the highest prevalence of diabetes in the world. In fact, experts agree diabetes and other non-communicable diseases are one of the greatest threats to the regions development. Campaign partners Adventist Health and the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (β€˜ADRA’) are committed to delivering activities targeting Type II Diabetes in the South Pacific. Equip local communities with the skills and tools to conduct community health assessments for the early detection of diabetes (and other, related chronic diseases),
2. Train and resource lifestyle coaches across the South Pacific with the skills to help prevent, arrest and reverse Type II Diabetes, and;
3. Support the professional development of health professionals working in health systems across the South Pacific in diabetes management

Our new mobile clinics have hit the road in Samoa! πŸ’™

For people living in remote communities, reaching a health clinic can be difficult and for those too unwell to travel, impossible.

Our 10,000 Toes mobile clinic vans are bringing vital health education, diabetes screening and practical support directly to them.

But we need your help to keep them moving. πŸ™πŸ»

Your donation can help fuel and equip these vans so they can reach communities where healthcare is needed most.

Help keep Samoa’s mobile clinics on the road. πŸ’™

Aunty Samoa shares her powerful testimony of diabetes and the changes she has made to improve her health. πŸ’™

Her story is a powerful reminder that knowledge, early action and healthier choices can change lives.

But too many people across the Torres Strait still need access to vital health information and early health checks.

Help us reach more people before diabetes takes more toes. πŸ’”

Good health starts by listening. πŸ’™

10,000 Toes Project Manager Pamela Townend travelled to Moa Island in the Torres Strait, to meet local communities and better understand the health challenges they face.

Meeting Aunty Josie, Aunty Lynelda and many new friends was a special highlight. Their warmth, wisdom and love for their communities made this visit truly meaningful. πŸ™

The Torres Strait faces significant health challenges, and we hope to see 10,000 Toes Wellness Hubs here in the future.

βœ… Stay tuned for a powerful testimony from Aunty Samoa, coming next.

Our journey marks a turning point for health in Niue. πŸ‡³πŸ‡ΊπŸ’™

With around 1 in 3 people living with diabetes or elevated blood glucose levels, the need for action is urgent.

We trained local volunteers, built strong partnerships and helped lay the foundations for free health checks and health education across the island.

This is an important beginning, but there is still much more to do. πŸ™πŸ»

βœ… Every donation helps us turn the tide on diabetes across the South Pacific.
