Pilbara HPs - Strengthen your practical ear and hearing health skills with EarTrain’s free one-day workshop.

This practical, non-accredited workshop will cover:

▶ Otoscopy
▶ Tympanometry (under 6 months of age)
▶ Tympanometry (over 6 months of age)

EarTrain is a fully funded national training program supporting primary healthcare professionals to identify and manage otitis media and other hearing conditions in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Participants will also receive ongoing access to online learning covering audiometry, screening otoacoustic emissions, infection control, culturally safe practice and more.

The WA Aboriginal Eye Health Forum is seeking poster presentations for its forum on Tuesday 24 November.

If you have a project, initiative or research related to Aboriginal eye health, this is an opportunity to share your work with others across WA.

This one-day education and professional development event will bring together communities, clinicians, researchers, and policymakers to strengthen culturally safe and sustainable eye health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Western Australia.

A big thank you to our wonderful presenter, Tanya Dale, and Diabetes WA for sharing practical insights into diabetes management and clinical care. Tanya’s engaging and interactive presentation made it a fantastic morning of learning, discussion and connection.

It was great to see everyone (and some little future health professionals) getting involved!

A big thank you to everyone who came along to our Social Sundowner. It was great to catch up with local health professionals and see some new faces too.

We also loved having families join us—it made the evening feel even more relaxed and welcoming.

It was fantastic to be a small part of the RCSWA BRIDGE Pilbara experience! 🌟

The PHPN was delighted to welcome the visiting junior doctors to our Karratha and Hedland Social Sundowners in August, giving them the opportunity to connect with local health professionals and hear firsthand what it’s like to live and work in the Pilbara.

With fantastic turnouts at both events, it was a great reminder of just how valuable these informal connections can be — bringing together visiting doctors with the people already working, living and building their careers across our region.

We hope the Pilbara made a lasting impression and that we’ll see some familiar faces return to work in our region in the future! 🩺
