It was SO GREAT to have the opportunity to meet with both Principle Midwifery Manager, Simone Payn, and Pregnancy Connect Midwifery Manager Helen Donovan, from Sydney Local Health District this morning. I & our Nesting Hub Team are truly grateful to them for their endeavour, support and commitment to creating the best experience for us & our clients, and better outcomes for our mums and bubs going forward into the future too.

Publicly-Funded Homebirth & Endorsed Midwife Shared Care were also discussed, and we are excited to see more options for continuity of midwifery care & home-based care going forward.

Simone & Helen, it was really wonderful to meet you & I thank you so much for your time. Hopefully for our next catch up, all of our Nesting Hub Midwives will be free to join us.

Our Midwives, Kate & Lena joined Danae Specialised Birth Doula, Pregnancy Yoga this weekend for her Optimal Maternal Positioning (OMP) Workshop, to assist them in preparing our clients for their physiological labour & birth journeys ahead 💜.

It was also REALLY FANTASTIC to see some of our Nesting Hub couples there who are coming up to birth soon too. How Special to share this time together ✨🫶🏻.

OMP brings alignment and mobility within the mother’s pelvis, that enables the baby’s cardinal movements to facilitate the progression of labour 🤩. It is So Worthwhile to incorporate OMP in the lead up to labour, and then throughout labour too.

It was So Much Fun Today!! Thank You Very Much Danae 🤩…, and indeed Thank You & All the Very Best to Everyone who came along too.

✨National Sorry Day 2026✨

National Sorry Day remembers and acknowledges the mistreatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who were forcibly removed from their homes, families and communities - now known as ‘The Stolen Generations’.

This day gives everyone the opportunity to unite together and move forward, towards healing for the Stolen Generations, their Families and their Communities.

The 2026 theme emphasises that whilst apologies are important, words alone are not enough. It is a call for governments, organisations and communities to implement the report’s outstanding recommendations, ensuring truth, justice, and healing within survivors’ lifetimes.

Let’s Stand Together on this day, and ALWAYS
🖤❤️💛.

We are Almost at the midway point of the year & Midwife Gail is So Proud of our Team & of the Families who choose us to care for them ✨💜. Thank YOU All.

We have had ALL BUT TWO babies born at home since the start of 2026 & many of those were born to 1st time Mums as well. How AMAZING is that?! 🤩👏🏻.

So, for those 1st time Mums out there thinking that they’ll birth in the hospital 1st time around & ‘see how they go’, why not consider birthing at home, with the support and care of experienced, knowledgeable & skilled midwives?!

Our statistics reflect how safe our model of care is, the skill & experience within our midwives & they highlight that supporting physiological labour & birth leads to better outcomes for mums and their babies.

We have had only 2 hospital transfers in almost 6 months. Just 2!!!!!! Both of those beautiful Mummas were hoping for & they worked hard to achieve their VBAC. One had a vaginal birth & one a repeat c section. Both of these AMAZING women laboured hard at home for a while 🤩🫶🏻. We are beyond proud of them, of each Homebirthing family and of our FANTASTIC Nesting Hub Team too!!!! You are all Absolutely Amazing!!!!! 🥹♥️.

✨Mother’s Day 2026✨

Mother’s Day is a special occasion dedicated to honouring and celebrating the remarkable women & maternal figures in our lives who have embraced the role of motherhood. It is a day to express gratitude, love, and appreciation for the selfless love, care, and support that mothers provide 💜.

Mother’s Day is a time to reflect upon the profound impact mothers have on our lives, their unwavering dedication, and the countless sacrifices they make. It also serves as a reminder to cherish and value the maternal figures in our lives, recognising their unconditional love and nurturing nature 💗.

Mother’s Day is an opportunity to honour & give thanks to these extraordinary individuals and to make them feel cherished and loved 🫶🏻.

To all of You Phenomenal Mums, to the Awe-Inspiring Nesting Hub Mothers and to their Beautiful Midwives too, we wish you a special & memorable day ahead 🤩🌻.

We understand that Mother’s Day can be a sad & difficult day for some. For those who have lost a child, for those who have been unable to conceive or have miscarried, for those who have lost their mother or who are estranged from their mother. It can be such a tough day to get through. So, for those of you affected in this way, we send the biggest of hugs & lots of love as you navigate this day, and please know that we are always there 🌺💗.

✨Birth Reflection, by Sabrina✨

“It has been overwhelming to sit down and reflect on what a truly perfect experience our journey and birth was with Gail and The Nesting Hub. Not perfect as in textbook, rather perfect for our family and for how we journeyed through pregnancy and brought our beautiful daughter, Ina, into the world. We felt so gently held by Gail from our initial call at four weeks pregnant, both so excited, anxious, nervous…., all the emotions about our journey ahead. From the comfort of our own couch and over many cups of tea, Gail helped me to realise an internal belief of how capable I was, with the unwavering support of my partner Brynn, to birth my baby safely and preciously at home. Gail brought to each meeting such a belief in me, Brynn, and our baby, as well as incredibly insightful, evidence-based experience, knowledge and skills that left me feeling relaxed, without anxieties of “what if this, or what if that?” Gail met all of our questions throughout our journey with such consideration, listening deeply to our thoughts and reminding us that we had complete control over the decisions made for our birth.

The continuity of care offered by Gail (and her incredible team of midwives) is more than just a friendly face on the day of birth, but rather a nurtured, deep connection to empower and support pregnancy and birthing journeys.

The night that I went into labour, yes there were some nerves, but more excitement about allowing my body to birth my baby. We excitedly texted Gail to let her know how things were moving. Her support, encouragement, belief and genuine euphoria for us came through the phone with every encouraging piece of advice and calm words to us, as the labour continued into the morning. I remember a moment I was in the shower working through very powerful surges and I said to myself “just surrender just surrender”. There was a peace that came over me and I just knew what was possible.

As I moved to the birth pool under Gail‘s wise guidance, there was a wave of calm. There was so much calmness and peace in the birth space, that our beautiful baby made her way Earthside with Gail on the phone to us as she raced to be with us.

I truly attribute the energy in our birth space to the power that Gail helped me to realise I had.

Rather than fearing birth, fearing pain or feeling anxious with what was to come, with Gail’s support along side deep personal discovery, I looked forward to birthing my baby. Excited to see my body do what it was designed to, and feel my baby be born. Labour became something I looked forward to and is now a day I look back on in absolute awe.

We gained more than just our baby in our family, but Gail (Gary) and Gail’s incredible team of midwives.

My heart continues to burst when I think back on our time & birth with Gail 💛”.
