πŸ’™ Little Wins Matter

Sometimes the biggest wins don't look very big at all.

I watched a little girl get herself out of the car in the rain, put up her umbrella, grab her bag, and walk into school independently.

No fuss.
No drama.
No help.

Just confidence, determination, and a quiet little moment of independence.

And that's the thing about progress...

Sometimes it's:

βœ” Walking into school independently
βœ” Making a phone call for the first time
βœ” Trying a new activity
βœ” Ordering your own coffee
βœ” Attending an appointment with less support
βœ” Having a shower independently
βœ” Leaving the house after weeks of anxiety

Progress isn't always dramatic.

It's often built from hundreds of tiny moments that slowly create confidence, independence, resilience, and quality of life.

The moments that seem small to others are often the moments that matter most.

That's why we celebrate the little wins too.

Because today's little win might be tomorrow's big milestone. πŸ’™

What little win are you celebrating this week?

πŸ“§ A Day In My Inbox...

People often ask what a Support Coordinator actually does all day.

Here's a glimpse into today's inbox (names removed, of course πŸ‘‡)

πŸ“§ Chasing an OT report needed for an upcoming NDIS submission
πŸ“§ Following up equipment quotes
πŸ“§ Responding to questions from support workers
πŸ“§ Coordinating nursing supports
πŸ“§ Discussing funding options with plan managers
πŸ“§ Organising assessments and appointments
πŸ“§ Working through home modification requests
πŸ“§ Responding to participant and family enquiries
πŸ“§ Reading reports (all 47 pages of them πŸ˜…)
πŸ“§ Following up providers who haven't replied to my last email... or the email before that...

And that's before the phone calls, meetings, case notes, funding reviews, and the random emergencies that somehow appear every week.

A lot of Support Coordination happens behind the scenes.

Most days, nobody sees the hundreds of little tasks happening in the background that keep supports moving forward.

But that's okay.

Because if things are running smoothly for participants and families, that's exactly how it should be. πŸ’™

What's one email you've been putting off answering? πŸ‘€

Support Worker Wanted – Tingoora πŸ’œ

We are looking for the right person to join an amazing existing support team supporting a 21-year-old young woman living in Tingoora.

This role would suit someone who is kind, calm, reliable, patient, and genuinely interested in supporting someone to be safe, included, heard, and involved in everyday life.

The role may include support with community access, personal care, communication, activities, routines, and following support plans. Experience with complex disability or Rett syndrome would be highly regarded, but the right attitude and willingness to learn is just as important.

Applicants will need, or be willing to obtain:

ABN
Yellow Card / NDIS Worker Screening
NDIS Worker Orientation Modules
First Aid & CPR
Driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
Public liability and professional indemnity insurance
Willingness to complete participant-specific training

This is not just about filling a shift β€” it’s about becoming part of a supportive team and making a real difference in someone’s day-to-day life.

To express interest, please email [email protected] with a short message about yourself, your experience, availability, and any current checks/training you already have.

A little favour to ask πŸ’™

I've finally set up an official Google Business Profile for AblePath Living Supports.

If we've worked together and you've been happy with the support you've received, I would be incredibly grateful if you could take a minute to leave a Google review.

As a small local business, reviews make a huge difference. They help other families find support, build trust, and let people know what it's actually like working with me.

Whether I've helped navigate the NDIS, coordinated supports behind the scenes, answered endless questions, or simply been there when things felt overwhelming, your feedback means the world.

⭐ Leave a review here:

Thank you for supporting my little business and allowing me to do a job I genuinely love.

πŸ“’ NDIS Changes – Let's Not Panic Yet

If you've been following the news lately, you've probably seen plenty of discussion about upcoming NDIS changes.

And if you're feeling a little nervous about what it might mean for you or your family, that's completely understandable.

The important thing to remember is this:

πŸ‘‰ At this stage, many of the details are still being worked through and clarified.
πŸ‘‰ Nobody knows exactly how every proposed change will look in practice.
πŸ‘‰ There is no benefit in stressing about information that hasn't been fully released yet.

My role as a Support Coordinator is to stay on top of these changes so you don't have to.

Once the government releases the final details and we have clear information about what is changing, we will work through it together and make sure you understand what it means for your situation.

In fact, I've already started making small adjustments with many of my current participants to help ensure we're in the best possible position moving forward, regardless of what the final outcome looks like.

NDIS has changed many times over the years, and while change can feel overwhelming, it doesn't mean you're facing it alone.

For now:
βœ”οΈ Keep using your supports
βœ”οΈ Keep working toward your goals
βœ”οΈ Keep asking questions

And leave the policy-watching and paperwork headaches to me. πŸ’™

🎡 "Guess who's back... back again..." 🎡

After what felt like forever battling internet issues, we're finally back online with a steady connection and ready to get posting again! πŸ™Œ

And what better way to start than with a little update...

AblePath Living Supports now has a welcoming meeting space where participants, families, and support teams can come together for catch-ups, planning meetings, reviews, or just a friendly chat over a cuppa β˜•πŸ’™

We've been busy making the space feel warm, comfortable, and inviting β€” because support shouldn't feel like sitting in a clinical office.

The next project is creating an outdoor meeting area too 🌿🌸 (although we'll probably wait until Queensland remembers it's not winter before we start using it πŸ˜…).

I'm excited to be back, reconnecting with everyone, and sharing more of what goes on behind the scenes at AblePath.

Well… it’s been a little quieter than usual over here 🫠

I’ve been without proper internet for the past 5 weeks, which has made posting, uploading, and keeping up with my page more difficult than planned.

But I am still here.

Emails are still being checked, messages are still being answered, and supports have continued ticking along in the background.

I have so much to share β€” updates, helpful NDIS information, behind-the-scenes moments, and a few exciting things happening with AblePath Living Supports.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while I get everything fully sorted.

Normal posting will resume shortly… internet permitting πŸ’™
