Every team needs a Jess, and we’re so glad she’s part of ours! 💙

An absolute vibe and a breath of fresh air, Jess brings warmth, positive energy and a sense of fun to everything she does. She has a wonderful way of making people feel comfortable, valued and better for having spent time with her.

Alongside that infectious enthusiasm, Jess brings extensive experience and knowledge supporting participants with a wide range of complex support needs. She takes the time to understand each person and build trusting, meaningful connections.

Outside of work, this proud mum of two loves the beach, travelling, music and getting creative. She’s always keen for some fun and finds joy in the little things. ✨

🌟 HCI STAFF SPOTLIGHT – MEET ETHAN! 🌟

This week, we’re shining the spotlight on Ethan, one of our wonderful support workers here at Hunter Community Inclusion! 💙

Ethan has been part of the HCI family for almost six months, and he’s already bringing plenty of kindness, positivity and enthusiasm to the team!

What Ethan loves most about being a support worker is knowing that he can make a difference in someone’s life, no matter how big or small. For him, it’s all about building trust, supporting others and helping people live their best lives. 💙

When he’s not out making a difference, you’ll find Ethan rock climbing, watching anime, reading manga or enjoying a game of Magic: The Gathering! 🧗‍♂️🎮

💬 Ethan’s take on what makes a great support worker?

Someone who is compassionate, trustworthy, non-judgemental and kind — and most importantly, someone who will be your biggest hype person when you achieve your goals! 🙌

❤️💙 OUR HCI FAMILY NEEDS YOU — PLEASE RALLY AROUND ANGEL & HER BEAUTIFUL LITTLE GIRL ❤️💙

Yesterday, one of our much-loved HCI team members and her family had their world turned upside down in an unimaginable tragedy.

While out sending off our Newcastle Knights, our beautiful Angel and her gorgeous 5-year-old daughter were involved in the horrific accident at Wallsend.

Angel’s little girl is currently at John Hunter Hospital in an induced coma, fighting for her life, after suffering serious injuries and undergoing multiple operations.

Angel was also seriously injured and faces surgeries and a long recovery of her own — yet she remains right where any mum would want to be, beside her baby girl.💔

As a team, it is absolutely heartbreaking knowing that one of our own is going through something so unimaginable.

Angel has another beautiful daughter at home, and this gorgeous little family now has an incredibly long and uncertain road ahead of them. Right now, their focus needs to be on healing, recovery and simply getting through each day together — not worrying about bills, work or the financial pressure that comes with a tragedy like this.

A GoFundMe has been created by Angel’s family to help support Angel and her girls through the hospital stays, surgeries, rehabilitation and recovery ahead.

🌟 STAFF SPOTLIGHT – MEET SOL! 🌟

We’re excited to introduce one of the newest faces to join the HCI team — Sol!👋💙

Sol has made the move to Newcastle from Tamworth, bringing with him previous experience supporting participants living with **mental health challenges. Since joining HCI, we’ve absolutely loved the fresh, energetic energy he brings to the team! 🙌

Sol is all about getting outdoors, meeting new people and making the most of every opportunity. He loves camping, exploring new places!

He’s also a very keen sportsman and, in particular, loves himself some basketball! 🏀 Whether he’s playing it, watching the NBA or talking about it, basketball is definitely his thing. We’re basically calling him HCI’s very own LeBron James… although we’re still waiting to see the evidence on the court. 😂🏀

What really stands out about Sol is his passion for building genuine connections with the people he supports. For him, support work is about getting to know each person, understanding what matters to them and helping them achieve goals, try new things and enjoy being part of their community.

We’re so happy to have Sol on board and can’t wait to see him continue bringing his enthusiasm, positive attitude and fresh ideas to HCI! 💙
