Navigating second-time infertility has been pretty tough and isolating 🌤️

For two Christmases, I’ve cherished this little family decoration while wishing and hoping ✨

It’s not a journey that’s spoken about enough.

The things that helped me were often the simplest. Getting outside. Feeling the sun on my face. Putting my feet on the grass ☀️

But the hardest and most powerful work was practising gratitude. We live in a world where we’re often focused on wanting more, but learning to truly shine a light on the joy I already had in my life was incredibly powerful. A beautiful family and a full life. I had to work really hard at this, and over time something shifted 🌬️

And now, all going well, we’ll be welcoming another little A Team member this November 🎄

I know nothing is guaranteed, and my eyes are much more open this time around.

Sending so much love to anyone still navigating the infertility path x

A huge thank you to my phenomenal co-coordinator Belinda for organising such a beautiful Perinatal Professional Network North gathering this past Saturday ☀️

It was a valuable opportunity for practitioners from across Northern Tasmania to come together, connect and learn more about services available within our community.

Hosted at the newly opened Mother Baby Unit in Launceston, we also had a brief tour of the facility and heard from Dr Alice Dwyer, Medical Director of Parent-Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health at Tresillian.

Dr Alice shared insights into attachment theory, relational dysregulation, and the complexity of mental health presentations experienced during the perinatal period. While much of the clinical mental health content sat outside my direct scope of practice, it was incredibly interesting to listen, learn and witness the mental health practitioners and social workers in the room really engaging with the discussion.

I was particularly interested to hear about the Parent-Child Nurture and Regulation Group pilot study and the work being done to better understand and support mothers who may otherwise fall through the gaps of traditional perinatal mental health care.

Tresillian’s Launceston Mother Baby Unit offers free support for mothers and their children from newborn to 3 years, adding another layer of support available to Northern Tasmanian families 💫

All with Mothers at the centre 🙌

The Expo yesterday left me feeling exhilarated by all the positive feedback. We chose Mother’s Day weekend to truly honour and celebrate the mothers in our community (although in hindsight, it may not have been the best date alongside Agfest 🤦🏻‍♀️ BUT we’re living and learning 🤣)

For our VERY FIRST expo, I am absolutely thrilled and filled with so much joy at the incredible connections formed between practitioners and the beautiful mothers who came through our doors. I will forever cherish the moment I looked over and saw every seat filled with mums sitting together, listening to the presentations 😃

One of the stallholders shared that a pregnant mama came expecting to stay for just an hour… and ended up being there for four! Between the free Hydramama sample from my stall, the beautiful chocolate chip cookies from another, and the warmth shared throughout the day, it truly was a magical experience — a space where mothers could find their village 🫶

Sending love to all mothers today. Thank you to everyone who came along yesterday and helped make it such a wholesome and heart-filling experience 🥹 I am forever grateful x

I couldn’t be more excited to be attending the Birth In Tasmania Expo next Saturday the 9th of May! 🥰🥳💃

We’ve had some really beautiful feedback from mothers that what’s often missing is the “village” as you navigate this whole new identity and role of motherhood. And the thing is… your village doesn’t have to be just family and friends — it can also be made up of incredible, supportive professionals who are here to walk alongside you 💞

That’s exactly what this expo is all about!

There’ll be a mix of services — some free or government rebated, and yes, some paid too. So many of the businesses will be offering little tastes and trial experiences on the day, which is such a lovely way to explore what feels right for you.

We purposely chose Mother’s Day weekend as a celebration of YOU! 🌸

I’ll be there with bells on and I’d absolutely love to see you there too! 💋

What a legend! I had the best morning meeting the amazing Sharon from

She’s truly a wealth of knowledge, and I really admire her passion for what she does. I loved hearing about her baby first aid courses through - definitely not your average class! With her nursing and paediatric background, she can answer all those burning questions.

I’m also so excited about what’s ahead, especially her plans to bring baby massage into our community 🤩

We had a great brainstorm about the topics she’ll be covering at the Expo, can’t wait to share more on that soon!

All in all, such a wonderful morning. Thank you so much for coming up to meet me, Sharon! And yes… Arlo may have also had a fabulous time demolishing ice creams (yes plural), banana bread, and brownies at the café too 😂🍦🫠

I couldn’t have picked a more beautiful autumn day to spend in the park with our Blossom Motherhood postpartum doula clients 🍂

Next time, I might set the picnic blanket a little further from the acorn trees… those things were like tiny grenades, ended up with a few in my shoes 😅

Such a beautiful group of mamas, with some getting ready to start solids. We shared resources, experiences, and tips on navigating this new stage, and it was so special to see everyone openly supporting one another. This is the magic of the Blossom Motherhood community mamas coming together, supporting each other 💛

I had the most magical morning enjoying a hot coffee, baby chats, and chocolate-covered dates stuffed with nut butter. Truly a magnificent way to start the day ✨

What a powerful morning with best-selling author Jodi Wilson 🙌

Fresh from her national book launch of A Brain That Breathes, our perinatal network was lucky enough to share an intimate morning tea where Jodi guided us through the beautiful blend of research, lived experience, and practical tools from her book ✨ all explored through a perinatal lens.

There was so much wisdom in the room.
Save this post for later, especially for those moments when life feels like a lot. Here are a few gentle, practical tools Jodi shared to support you (and the families you work with):

💛Try “legs up the wall” — a simple, restorative pose
💛Soft fascination ☁️ sip a cup of tea and watch the trees, the birds, the light.
💛Go for a walk without earphones 😉 let your brain breathe
💛Find some green space, even with a little one in tow 🌿 the benefits for you and your baby can be profound.
💛Slow down with deep breaths and intentional sighs

Jodi shared that mothering today is the hardest it’s ever been 😫 You are doing a wonderful job mama!

If you swipe to the last slide, you’ll see a little gift: a short breathing exercise Jodi guided us through (yes, including the audible sigh I enthusiastically requested multiple times 😅🙊).

A beautiful reminder that even in a busy, noisy café, we can find moments to soften, pause, and melt into our chair 🫠

One concept that really stayed with me was “infobesity” 🤔 the overload of constant information we’re consuming daily. So here’s your gentle nudge…

Put your phone down. Make a cup of tea. Look out the window. Take a deep breath… and maybe even an audible sigh 😮‍💨🥰

Thank you, Jodi your work is so needed, and so deeply felt 🫶

Last night I attended the annual dinner, and it was such a beautiful, heart-filling evening 💛

I donated an in-home massage to the silent auction and was absolutely thrilled that it received the highest bid it has in the past few years — with all funds going towards new floor furnishings for the birth centre, which has just had its lease renewed. Such wonderful news for our community!

At the heart of the night was celebrating the private midwives and the outstanding care they offer. I’m in awe of Marine, Michelle and Jaimee, and it was a beautiful farewell to Josephine. Phenomenal that Michelle had just attended three births in 24 hours and still arrived looking like an absolute goddess in a gorgeous white frock 🤍

My favourite part is always hearing the birth stories. One especially moving moment was a mama sharing her gratitude for our paths crossing so I could support her with lymphatic drainage massage during mastitis early postpartum — a true reminder of why I love this work 🥹

Add in a fascinating chat with retired midwife Anna Holloway about making a rosemary tincture, and a stunning venue at Alida Restaurant, and it truly was a magical night. ✨

Thank you Launceston Birth Centre for such a special evening 💋
