So true. So why are we worried?
No amount of anxiety makes any difference to anything that is going to happen.

"No amount of anxiety makes any difference to anything that is going to happen."
- Alan Watts
Have you ever noticed that your body is here in the present…
but your mind is living inside a “movie about the future”?
“What if I fail?”
“What if they leave me?”
“What if everything gets worse?”
“What if I’m not good enough?”
And the body reacts to those imagined scenarios
as if they were actually happening right now.
I used to live like that for a long time.
From one worry to another.
My mind constantly created endless scenarios with the belief that:
if I worried enough,
thought enough,
prepared enough,
then somehow I could control the future.
But eventually, I realized something:
most anxiety is simply the mind rehearsing things that have never happened.
And life…
it continues to unfold in its own way.
Never completely according to the script in our heads.
The deepest thing I’ve learned is this:
anxiety does not make the future safer.
It only steals life from the present moment.
And the paradox is:
when the mind is no longer trapped in fear about tomorrow,
we often act with far more clarity,
wisdom,
and effectiveness.
