What is GLA:D Back?

GLA:D Back is an evidence-based program designed to help people with persistent or recurrent low back pain take control of their back pain and function well in everyday life.

For clinicians, GLA:D Back training provides the knowledge and practical skills to deliver the full program in your clinic.

GLA:D Back training equips clinicians with current knowledge about low back pain and evidence-based management strategies, with practical support to help implement GLA:D Back in your clinic.

Training is open to registered physiotherapists, chiropractors, osteopaths and Accredited Exercise Physiologists practising in Australia.

We’re excited to share the preliminary results from the 2025 GLA:D Back Australia Annual Report 🎉

Over the past few years, GLA:D Back has continued to grow across Australia, helping more people access evidence-based care for persistent and recurrent back pain.

Some standout results:
✅245 clinicians trained across Australia
✅255 participants supported
✅39% reduction in average back pain at 3 months
✅28% reduction in pain medication use
✅74% achieved their personal goals
✅8 in 10 participants reported high satisfaction
