WHAT IF YOU STOPPED REHEARSING THE PROBLEM?
Someone asks you:
“How are you?”
And without even thinking, the story begins.
What went wrong.
Why it happened.
Who hurt you.
Why you are the way you are.
Why things never seem to change.
And maybe every word of that story is true.
But here’s a question worth asking:
How many times have you already told yourself that story?
There is a big difference between understanding what happened to you and spending years becoming better and better at describing the same problem.
At some point, understanding the past needs to become **creating the future.**
So try something different today.
Imagine that tonight, while you sleep, the problem you have been struggling with disappears.
Nobody tells you.
When you wake up tomorrow morning, what is the FIRST small thing that would tell you something has changed?
Not:
“What would my perfect life look like?”
Something smaller.
What would you do differently when you get out of bed?
How would you speak?
What would you stop doing?
What would someone close to you notice?
What would your hands be doing at 8:15 tomorrow morning?
Now ask yourself:
On a scale from 0 to 10, where am I today?
If you are at a 3, don’t try to become a 10 tomorrow.
Ask:
What would a 4 look like?
Then do one thing today that belongs to that 4.
That’s where change becomes real.
You don’t have to completely understand the person you were before you begin practicing the person you want to become.
Sometimes a new life doesn’t begin with a massive breakthrough.
It begins when you interrupt one old pattern…
choose one different response…
take one different action…
and give yourself the first piece of evidence that another way of living is possible.
Stop asking only: “Why am I like this?”
Start asking:
“What would I do differently if I were already becoming the person I want to be?”
Your new life doesn’t have to begin all at once.
Just move from 3 to 4.
