We had the opportunity to run a Bush Medicine workshop with the JTC High School Aboriginal girls program.

I’m passionate about teaching our younger generation and raising awareness of some of our bush medicines—the knowledge our old people have passed down, how they’re used, and the stories behind them.

My hope is to spark conversations around connecting to our country and yarning with family—aunties, uncles, nanas, pops—about their experiences. I believe these conversations foster deeper healing within our community.

Happy Friday! Take care, stay safe, and stay connected. Urda! Boorda!

🌿 Important Update: Revised Manga-Bura Wellness Camp Fees🌿

We are excited to announce that after careful consideration and community feedback, we have revised the Manga-Bura Wellness Camp fees to make this unique experience more affordable and accessible for women who would like to attend.

Camp Fees

✨ Standard Registration Fee: $1,750
✨ Early Bird Registration: $1,550 (First 10 Participants)
✨ $500 Non-Refundable Deposit required to secure your place

Our vision for Manga-Bura has always been to create a safe, culturally grounded, and empowering space for women. We understand that cost can be a barrier, so we have worked hard to restructure our pricing while maintaining the quality and authenticity of the experience.

Why Are There Costs Involved?

Manga-Bura is not simply a camping trip. It is a carefully planned, first-of-its-kind women's wellness experience in the Pilbara, bringing together culture, wellbeing, healing, connection, and Country.

The camp fees help cover:

🌿 Remuneration for Elders sharing cultural knowledge and experiences
🌿 Workshop facilitators, guest presenters, and support team
🌿 Catering, meals, refreshments, and camp supplies
🌿 Camping infrastructure and participant amenities
🌿 Transport, logistics, permits, insurance, and safety requirements
🌿 First aid and participant support services
🌿 Cultural activities and on-Country experiences

What's Included?

Every participant will receive a Manga-Bura Welcome & Take-Home Package, including:

👕 Manga-Bura Wellness Camp shirt
🧢 Engraved Manga-Bura Fedora hat
📖 Manga-Bura wellness journal
☕ Engraved Manga-Bura travel mug
🌿 Pilbara Bush Remedy gift pack
🎁 Additional merchandise and keepsakes

A First for the Pilbara

To our knowledge, there is currently no other women's wellness camp in the Pilbara offering this level of cultural immersion, Elder involvement, on-Country learning, wellbeing activities, and take-home resources. We have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to create a genuine, respectful, and culturally authentic experience that honours both Ngarluma and Yindjibarndi Country while providing a supportive environment for women from all backgrounds.

The revised fees reflect our commitment to making this opportunity accessible while ensuring that Elders, facilitators, and service providers are appropriately valued and supported for the important role they play in helping deliver the camp.

We thank everyone for their interest, encouragement, and support so far. We look forward to welcoming women on this special journey of healing, connection, culture, and wellbeing.

💛 Created by Women, for Women.
🌿 Strong Women. Strong Culture. Strong Communities.

As our Boodjar exhales from the south-west into the season of Makuru — season of fertility. Bringing strong winds, cold weather fronts, heavy rainstorms and occasional snow from the south at Boola Miyel (Bluff knoll).

In Makuru, we are asked to notice the quiet miracles: The first green shoots, flowers budding for new life, seeds are germinating & fertilising our boodjar.

This is a time to remember that growth is a commitment kept in small, daily acts. It’s in the patients of planting your intentions, the mindful preparation of tending to your dreams, and the humility to let life unfold in its own timing.

Fertility isn’t only about abundance it’s the resilience of life to renew itself, to soften hard soils, to welcome new possibilities, and to honour the ways that have sustained us from the begining of time.

In Makuru, we learn to listen for the subtle signs—the whisper of rain on Boodjar , the songs on the wings of Wardong, Nyoorlyanark, & Marnarch. the unseen preparations beneath the surface. We trust the first sunlight Ngangk our mother to give the light of life to the seeds planted.

Let this season awaken us to responsibility: to nurture to heal with patience, to share with generosity, to act with love honouring the old ways. May our communities become gardens of hope, where each person’s gifts are watered, tended, and allowed to flourish in their own season.
