I can't take credit for this as my husband set this up - what a great quick set up game that will entertain your child on stay-at-home days (especially when it's raining outside 🌧️☔).

All you need is:
- a metal tray with pockets eg a donut tray like the one in the video, or a cupcake tray. Metal is important so that the magnetic tiles stick
- magnetic tiles or even fridge magnets that can cover the pockets of the tray
- pom poms or small items that can fit in the pockets

How to play:
It's just like hide and seek; your child lifts each magnet to "find" and rescue all the pom poms or items
Game extension: use other items like tweezers to pick up the pom poms or get them to sort the pom poms by colour into various trays after finding them

Staying home to escape the heatwave? Here's an easy sensory play idea!

Make some faux snow for your child to play with.

Modifications:
💸 Tight budget? Use a baking tray you already have at home or a large plastic container, existing kitchen utensils & cut up plastic bottles for pouring or scooping
💦 Your child doesn't enjoy wet textures? Add more bicarb soda to adjust (or alternatively, just use shaving foam if they love mushy wet textures). If the smell or feel is too much for them, place the shaving foam and/or bicarb mixture into a large ziplock bag for them to play with. Add food colouring for added interest)
🏡 Add in other small items you have around the house (whatever is safe for your child developmentally)
