Today, My Family Support Services is proudly hosting a table at the Helensvale Careers Day, speaking with future support workers about what it truly takes to make a positive difference in someone’s life.

🐪 CAMEL FARM ADVENTURE! 🌿☀️

Today our participants headed off on an exciting adventure to the camel farm! 🐪

It was a fantastic opportunity to get out into the community, experience something a little different and enjoy a fun-filled day together.

From meeting the camels and exploring the farm to enjoying the beautiful surroundings, our participants were actively involved throughout the day and embraced the experience with plenty of smiles and excitement. 💛

Days like today are all about choice, participation and creating meaningful experiences — supporting our participants to explore their interests, build confidence and enjoy life in the community.

A big shout-out to our support team for helping make today such a memorable adventure! 🌟

Cooking, connection & a little bit of ANZAC goodness! 🇦🇺

One of our participants has been getting actively involved in the kitchen, enjoying some quality cooking time within our SIL home while baking delicious ANZAC slices. 🥣🍪

From measuring ingredients and mixing to getting involved in the baking process, it was fantastic to see them actively participating, building confidence and enjoying the experience from start to finish.

At My Family Support Services, we love creating opportunities for participants to develop independence, choice and control, while enjoying meaningful activities in their own home. 💙

Sometimes it’s the simple moments—cooking together, trying something new and enjoying the finished result—that make the biggest difference!

And of course… the best part was getting to enjoy the ANZAC slice afterwards! 😋🇦🇺

What a fantastic day of learning, teamwork, and hands-on practice with our amazing staff! 💙
Today we focused on safe manual handling techniques, including: ✅ Using a hoist safely and confidently ✅ Sara Stedy transfers ✅ Safe transfer techniques ✅ Reducing risks for both participants and support workers ✅ Promoting dignity, independence, and person-centred support
There were plenty of laughs along the way as staff got involved in practical activities and worked together to build their skills and confidence. Training like this helps ensure we continue to provide safe, high-quality support while creating positive outcomes for the people we support.
