Meet Suzanne

From Intentional Minds – Relationship Counsellor

I’m Suzanne, and I’ve always been deeply curious about what makes people tick — how we relate, communicate and connect with one another.

With a Master’s degree in Counselling Practice and a background in psychology and sociology, I bring both professional knowledge and a genuine passion for supporting people in their relationships.

I’m dedicated to supporting couples and families to build healthy, attuned relationships that foster security, safety and a sense of calm. My approach is grounded in understanding, compassion and the belief that meaningful connection is at the heart of emotional wellbeing.

As a wife and mother, I understand firsthand the joys and challenges that come with family life.
I support couples to communicate openly, navigate conflict with care, and create relationships grounded in respect, emotional safety and genuine connection.

I’m also passionate about helping people understand the relational impact of different seasons of life — including pregnancy, raising children and perimenopause — bringing clarity, compassion and understanding to these important transitions.

We’re so pleased to welcome Suzanne and Intentional Minds to Mawson House Studio.

Suzanne is another wonderful practitioner joining our growing community of like-minded people, all bringing their own knowledge, experience and passion to create a space where people can feel supported, connected and cared for.

Welcome to Mawson House Studio, Suzanne.
We’re so happy to have you here.

Meet Carly

One of the things I’m really enjoying about watching Mawson House Studio take shape is seeing it attract practitioners who share a similar approach to care — people who are warm, genuine, compassionate and committed to creating spaces where people feel safe to be themselves.

We’re so pleased to welcome Carly to the Mawson House Studio community.

Carly is in the final stages of completing her Master’s in Counselling, building on more than 20 years’ experience working with young people.
She feels privileged to walk alongside adolescents and adults through some of the more vulnerable and challenging times in their lives.

Her approach is warm, down-to-earth and without judgement. She wants people to feel comfortable being themselves, knowing they will be heard, accepted and met where they are.

Carly works collaboratively with her clients, helping them better understand themselves, recognise their strengths and reconnect with what is important to them. Together, they can gently explore the challenges they’re facing and find ways forward that feel meaningful and right for them.

Carly also provides support around end-of-life care and serious illness, recognising that these experiences can bring complex emotions, practical decisions and moments that can feel overwhelming.

She provides a caring space to talk, plan and breathe, supporting people living with serious illness and their families through difficult conversations, easing distress and helping them focus on what matters most each day.
Her care also continues beyond a death, supporting families through the early weeks of grief and the ongoing adjustment to life after loss.

Carly believes meaningful change can happen when we feel safe, understood and supported. There is no pressure to have everything figured out, and no expectation to move faster than feels comfortable.

At the heart of Carly’s work is creating a space where people feel heard, understood and supported.

But there’s more to Carly than her work.
She’s a mum of two teenagers and someone who values the simple things in life. She lives on a small property in the Adelaide Hills with her partner, their children, cows, sheep and a very loved kelpie.
After growing up by the sea, Carly has come to love the peace and grounding that country life brings. Being connected to the land and animals reminds her to slow down, notice the small moments and make space for what really matters.

We feel incredibly fortunate to have Carly as part of this journey. She brings such warmth, genuine care and a depth of experience to her work, and I’m really pleased to have her joining the Mawson House Studio community.

Meet Candice

The founder of Meadows Skin & Beauty.

Candice has been part of the Mawson house community for nearly four years, building her business from the ground up.

While Candice has her own space on the other side of the building, she has been part of the story of this place for some time.

As Mawson House Studio continues to grow and bring different practitioners and wellbeing services together under one roof, it feels important to introduce the people who are already part of that wider community.

We often think about wellbeing through the lens of therapy and emotional health, but wellbeing comes through many modalities.

Taking care of ourselves and nurturing ourselves is the common thread to healing.
Slowing down, taking a little time for yourself, being cared for and simply feeling comfortable in your own skin.

Candice is passionate about helping people feel confident and comfortable in their skin, with a strong focus on skin health, natural results and personalised care.

Alongside Skin Therapists Jess and Ruby, Candice has created a space where you can take the time to understand your skin, your concerns and what it really needs.

Their philosophy is simple:

“We believe in working with your skin, not against it.”

For Candice, skincare is about more than treatments.
It’s about taking a little time for yourself, nurturing yourself and enjoying the experience of being cared for.

We’re so happy to have Candice, Jess and Ruby as part of the wider Mawson House Studio community, and love that this building can bring together different ways of supporting wellbeing, self-care and healing.

Meet Kerrilee

I am absolutely delighted to welcome Kerrilee from Balanced Path Counselling to the Mawson House Studio family.

Kerrilee is a Social Worker, Yoga and Meditation Teacher, and Breathwork Facilitator whose approach to wellbeing recognises the importance of sustaining both body and mind.

Having lived and worked in the Meadows community for around 20 years, Kerrilee has a deep connection to the local area.

With over 10 years of experience as a School Counsellor and Teacher supporting children, young people, and their families, she brings a compassionate, grounded, and holistic perspective to everything she does. Alongside her counselling and wellbeing practices, Kerrilee is an accredited trainer for Youth and Teen Mental Health First Aid (stay tuned for upcoming training dates at Mawson House studio).

As an ADHD and post-menopausal woman herself, she is also deeply passionate about helping women navigate the intersection of neurodivergence, and hormonal transitions through perimenopause and beyond successfully.

I feel incredibly fortunate to have Kerrilee as part of this journey. She is a warm, genuine, and well-rounded practitioner whose knowledge and experience will be a wonderful asset to our space.

Meet Wendy

I am Wendy, founder of HAPpy Clinical Hypnotherapy & Psychotherapy and Mawson House Studio.
For most of my life I’ve been drawn to people and their stories. My journey has taken me through many different roles — from working alongside people experiencing addiction and recovery in rehabilitation, supporting people through crisis care and su***de awareness with Lifeline, youth work, running girls groups, facilitating women’s circles, community basketball and coaching, and later owning my café for over 10 years.
Each of these experiences has shaped the way I see people. They have taught me the importance of connection, compassion and creating spaces where people feel safe enough to be themselves.
Over the years I’ve come to understand that many of us carry experiences in our bodies long after our minds have tried to move on. We develop patterns and ways of protecting ourselves that once helped us, but sometimes no longer serve us.
As a Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist, my work is about helping people explore these patterns with curiosity rather than judgement, creating a space where they can better understand themselves and reconnect with who they are.
My approach draws on a range of evidence-informed practices including person-centred counselling, coherence therapy, nervous system regulation, attachment theory and schema-informed practice. Every person is unique, and every session is tailored to the individual sitting in front of me.
I also believe wellbeing is not just about the mind. Sometimes reconnecting with ourselves happens through stillness, awareness, breath, mindfulness and learning to listen to what our body has been communicating. This is why guided hypnosis, mindfulness and the drum have become part of my work — supporting people to move beyond living only in their thoughts and reconnect more deeply with themselves.
Mawson House Studio grew from this same belief — creating a welcoming space where practitioners can begin or grow their own practice without the isolation and pressure that can come with starting out, while offering the community access to different pathways for wellbeing, connection and personal growth.
I feel incredibly grateful to be creating this space and sharing it with other passionate practitioners who believe in supporting people through connection, compassion and meaningful change.

The Vision of Mawson House Studio

People have been asking what Mawson House Studio will become.

Mawson House Studio is being created from an understanding of how challenging it can be to build a practice on your own.

Starting a business often comes with significant barriers.
Rising overheads, financial pressure, long-term commitments, and the isolation that can come from trying to grow something without a supportive professional community.

Many talented practitioners have the skills, passion, and desire to make a real difference, yet the pathway to establishing their own practice can feel out of reach.

Before you've even seen your first client, much of your income is already committed to the costs of running a business.
As a business owner myself, I understand those challenges. I know what it's like to build something from the ground up, to carry the financial responsibility, wear every hat, and navigate the journey largely on your own.

Mawson House Studio was born from the belief that there is a better way.
Our vision is to remove as many of those barriers as possible by creating a flexible, supportive environment where practitioners can grow at their own pace, without the pressure of overwhelming overheads or long-term commitments before they're ready.

This isn't simply about hiring a room.
It's about creating a professional community where practitioners can focus on what they do best, supporting others.

A place where knowledge can be shared, encouragement given and collaboration is welcomed, success can be celebrated together.

Healing doesn't belong to one profession or one modality.
It happens when people feel safe, seen, and supported.

The vision is to bring together practitioners who honour the whole person, body, mind, soul and nervous system—creating a community where different approaches work alongside one another rather than in competition.

Because when we support the people who support others, the whole community benefits.

This is about creating opportunity, connection, and a place where practitioners and the people they care for can thrive together.

If this vision resonates with you, we'd love to hear from you.

It's amazing how different a space can feel before a single coat of paint has gone on.

Over the past few weeks we've seen walls go up, rooms begin to take shape, and the vision slowly become a reality.

Thank you to everyone who has stopped to ask questions, sent messages of encouragement, or simply followed along on this journey.

Your support means more than you know.

We're getting closer.

It may not look like much right now!

As the renovations continue, so too does the vision for
Mawson House Studio.
Each day, another layer is peeled back.
The old kitchen tiles have been stripped away, appliances removed, and the space is slowly being transformed.

It's hard not to reflect on the journey of the building itself.

Once, this kitchen nourished the body through food. Soon, this space will help nourish the body, mind and soul through connection, learning, healing and wellbeing.

The vision is to create a welcoming hub where practitioners from a range of complementary modalities can come together under one roof. A place that encourages collaboration, supports wellbeing, and creates opportunities for our community to reconnect with themselves and one another.

Like the renovation itself, transformation often begins by removing what no longer serves us and creating space for something new to emerge.

If you're a practitioner looking for a welcoming space to see clients or facilitate groups, I'd love to hear from you.

And to our community… what classes, workshops or wellbeing services would you love to see offered at Mawson House Studio?
