Whanau way

Whanau way Supporting our whānau to thrive. 🌿 We are dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities and their families through a Whānau Ora approach.

We believe in mana motuhake (self-determination), inclusivity, and building a future where everyone belongs. At Whānau Way, we’re building something different. We know many people living with disability have experienced feeling unheard, rushed, or treated like just another number. That is not who we are, and it never will be. Whānau Way was created with one purpose — to provide support that is gen

uine, empowering, and centred around the individual. We believe every person deserves the opportunity to live a fulfilling life, achieve their goals, and feel supported by people who truly care.

“Whānau” means family, and that meaning is at the heart of everything we do. We work alongside participants, families, and allied health teams to create supports that are respectful, meaningful, and tailored to each person’s journey. What makes us different?
💚 We take time to build real relationships
💚 We focus on outcomes, not just hours of support
💚 We believe small actions create life-changing impact
💚 We are committed to doing things the right way from the beginning
💚 We see ability, potential, and purpose in every person

We are proud to support Plan Managed and Self Managed NDIS participants while awaiting NDIS registration, and we remain committed to delivering services aligned with NDIS values and best practice standards. At Whānau Way, support is more than a service — it’s about helping people grow in confidence, independence, connection, and quality of life.

Small Wins Matter

One thing I’ve learned in disability support is that small wins are actually huge victories.

A participant going to the shops for the first time in months.
Someone building the confidence to try a new activity.
Learning a new life skill.

These moments might seem small to others — but they are life-changing milestones.

At WhānauWay Disability Support, we celebrate every step forward.

Support is about:
💙 Building confidence
💙 Encouraging independence
💙 Creating safe and positive experiences

Every person deserves the chance to grow, learn and enjoy life in their own way.

If you or a loved one are looking for support, we currently have limited availability for new participants.

“Why I Started This”

People often ask me why I started WhānauWay Disability Support.

The truth is simple.

After 25 years working in disability and aged care, I saw how much difference the right support person can make in someone’s life.

Support shouldn’t feel rushed.
It shouldn’t feel like you’re just another shift.

It should feel like someone genuinely cares.

That’s why WhānauWay was created — to provide support that feels more like family than a service.

We support people with:
✨ Autism
✨ Intellectual disability
✨ Mental health
✨ ADHD / ASD
✨ Complex support needs
✨ Vulnerable youth

If you're looking for someone experienced who truly cares about helping people reach their goals, I would love to connect.

🌞 A Day in Support

Ever wondered what a day of support can actually look like?

Sometimes it’s helping someone cook their favourite meal.
Sometimes it’s a walk in the sunshine.
Sometimes it’s simply sitting and having a chat when someone needs it most.

Support isn’t just about tasks — it’s about connection, confidence and feeling valued.

At WhānauWay Disability Support, we focus on helping participants live life their way.

Today could include:
☕ A coffee outing
🎨 Arts and crafts
🚶‍♀️ Community activities
🍳 Cooking together
🌳 Getting outside and enjoying the day

With 25 years of experience, I believe every person deserves support that feels safe, respectful and empowering.

💬 If you or someone you care about is looking for genuine support, feel free to message me.

🌿 Welcome to Whānau Way Disability Services

At Whānau Way, we believe disability support should be more than just a service — it should be a partnership built on respect, trust, and genuine care.

Every person deserves the opportunity to live a good life, pursue their goals, and feel valued in their community. Too often people feel like they are just another number in a system. At Whānau Way, we are here to change that.

Our approach is simple:
💚 Empowering independence
💚 Supporting personal goals
💚 Creating meaningful opportunities
💚 Putting people and their families first

“Whānau” means family, and that is exactly how we see the people we support — as individuals with unique stories, strengths, and dreams.

We are committed to doing things the right way from the start. While we are currently awaiting NDIS registration, we are proudly supporting NDIS participants who are Plan Managed or Self-Managed, following NDIS guidelines and best practice standards.

Our mission is to provide support that enables people to thrive, build independence, and live the life they choose.

This is only the beginning of our journey, and we look forward to walking alongside participants, families, and the community.

✨ Empowering Independence. Enabling Great Futures.
