The reason your change isn’t sticking probably has nothing to do with how hard you’re trying.

Most of the patterns we most want to change — over-functioning, struggling to rest, always pushing through, waiting for proof we’re finally enough — are running as survival strategies.

Your nervous system installed them because at some point, they kept you safe.

And the nervous system’s job is to protect what keeps you safe.

You cannot willpower your way out of that. The system will fight for the pattern because it believes the pattern is necessary for your survival.

What you can do is build safety at the level where the pattern actually lives. Not in your mind. In your body.

That’s the work of Align — Step 3 in the REAL Framework. And it’s what most personal development spaces skip entirely.

There’s always a moment where your body does something unexpected.

I tried these nose strips last week to try to help with allergies.
Slept terribly.
But seemed to wake up energised anyway, which was pretty cool.

Went to EMBODY that night and as I was telling the girls about them and that, “I actually feel stronger than usual today…”

…I literally snapped a resistance band in half. 😂

Couldn’t have scripted it better. 🙌

The question most people ask themselves when they want to change isn’t actually helping them.

“What’s wrong with me?” feels like honest looking. Like taking responsibility.

But it has an assumption baked in — that YOU are the problem.

The question that actually changes things is this:
🌟what shaped me?

And underneath that:
🌟 who am I underneath the shaping?

This is the Explore phase. The step where you stop pathologising your patterns and start understanding them. Where curiosity isn’t a softer version of self-criticism — it’s genuinely more effective.

Because you can’t see around conditioning you believe is just “who you are.”

The science is clear on this. Approximately 95% of your mental activity runs on subconscious programming — absorbed mostly before the age of seven. Before you could evaluate what you were being taught.

The version of you who over-functions, over-delivers, struggles to rest, and keeps waiting for proof she’s enough?

She wasn’t born that way.

She learned to be that way.

And what was learned can be unlearned. Not by forcing yourself to act differently — but by understanding where it came from and building a new experience from the inside out.

When you stop performing and start being more genuinely yourself — something actually shifts.
In how people respond to you. How opportunities move toward you. How the quality of your relationships changes.

The HeartMath Institute has measured this. The heart’s electromagnetic field extends several metres from the body. When you are in a state of genuine positive emotion — care, appreciation, authentic presence — you produce coherence.

You affect the people around you. In a measurable way.

I teach from lived experience. And what I’ve seen — in my own life and in the women I work with — is that this isn’t abstract.

You are literally a different broadcast when you are living as yourself.

Sometimes it’s deeper exploration.
Sometimes it’s your nervous system.
Sometimes it’s finally understanding how you actually work.

You can’t think your way into a new life.

After a little bit of work, most women start seeing what’s going on.

They know what’s not working.
They know they’re doing too much.
They know something needs to change.

And yet… nothing changes.

Because their body is still wired for the life they’re trying to leave behind.

Change isn’t about knowing more.

It’s about feeling safe enough to do something different.

That’s the work.

And it looks a lot less like “pushing yourself” and a lot more like learning how to come back to yourself.

It is not leadership coaching in the conventional sense.

It is not Human Design in isolation, or nervous system work in isolation, or mindset work in isolation.

What I’m building — and what I try to help women inhabit — is an embodied path to integrated self-leadership.

Which means:

Understanding yourself clearly (not performing who you should be)

Reconnecting with how your body actually works (not overriding it)

Creating enough internal safety for change to actually stick (not just willing it)

And leading your whole life from that foundation

A person can understand everything intellectually and still be unable to change — because their body does not feel safe enough to do so.

This is not a small thing.

It is the thing that sits between insight and a life that actually feels different.

Most approaches to personal growth skip this step entirely.

Mine doesn’t.

If you’ve been feeling a bit out of sync with your body lately — tired, tight, pushing through everything — this is your reminder that it doesn’t have to feel like that.

I’m opening up spots for next term. EMBODY is a small group space in South Croydon for women where we focus on a mix of strength, movement and nervous system work — designed to help you build strength without burnout, and actually feel good in your body again.

Term 2 runs 20 April – 20 June�Sessions are:
Monday: 6-7pm
Thursday: 6-7pm
Saturday: 9-10am

It’s a really supportive, no-pressure space — you don’t need to be “fit” to start.
