The Nourishing Casey project brought Enliven's Food from Home team into five Community Hubs in the City of Casey to produce the Nourishing Casey Community Recipe Book. It was a pleasure to deliver these books to the Hubs earlier this week. Thank you to our funders City of Casey, Hub leaders and the women who generously shared their delicious, cultural recipes.

We are so proud to have worked together with the Community Hubs and City of Casey on this project and produce a recipe book which celebrates heritage, cultural connection and delicious food.

Beat the heat this summer.

Extreme heat can affect anybody. However, some people are more at risk, including babies and young children, older adults, people with acute or chronic health problems, people who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and people who are isolated. Heat can cause serious, life-threatening health problems like heat exhaustion and heatstroke and can worsen existing medical conditions like kidney and lung disease. There are steps you can take to protect yourself and others. Plan ahead. Know what to do before extreme heat arrives: - learn how to recognise early signs of heat-health related problems and how to take action - download the BOM app or check weather apps to monitor weather forecasts and warnings - make a plan to check in on family and friends who are more at risk during extreme heat - plan to stay out of the heat on very hot days - learn how to keep your house cool on hot days

Enliven runs "Staying healthy in a heatwave" presentations for community groups located in Victoria.

Big thanks to our fabulous co-design team for a thoroughly enjoyable first workshop over the weekend! We are looking forward to working together to learn, reflect and design tailored theatre-based initiatives supporting positive mental health outcomes for young people.

Theatre can be a powerful tool to raise awareness about mental health by breaking down harmful stereotypes and challenging stigma. Enliven (Part of Each) is partnering with headspace Knox and MiTheatre - Melbourne Indian Theatre to co-design a unique theatre-based initiative to raise awareness about youth mental health and address barriers to accessing mental health care for multicultural young people in Melbourne's East through storytelling.

October is Mental Health Month, an important platform to raise awareness about mental health issues and contribute to fostering a supportive and understanding community that promotes better mental health for everyone.
