I’m now full steam ahead into the beginning of week 2 👊

I have to admit it’s a massive adjustment both mentally and physically spending so much time at the computer.

While feeling completely overloaded with the amount of text and concepts to wrap my brain around I remind myself about how incredibly lucky I am to be in this position.

I get to throw myself into my studies and learn knowledge about things I’ve dreamed of for a very long time without the pressure of many life’s challenges that many others have to face.

Perspective is everything!
It creates your reality.

Quick little reset walks around the block to submerge myself into nature allows me to take it all in!

Study isn’t easy, but neither is being stagnant.

Challenge yourself and you’ll be amazed at what you’re actually capable of! ✨

With orientation week well under way, I’m feeling grounded and ready to smash out another intense term!

I’ve taken the time to reflect and build on last terms challenges and work on improving those areas that help me grow as a person.

It’s important to make time to do those things that bring you joy and also calm down, for running your nervous system in high levels of stress are going to burn you out and reek havoc on your body!!

Take time to slow things down, and breathe.
It’s the best and most simplest tool that we have.

Massive positive of studying online is the flexibility to study anywhere!
Today’s efforts of learning about human structure and physiology..
At my favourite place, the beach 🤍

Nearly the end of day three of starting my Diploma In Health Science with and it’s easy to say..

WOW. Information overload but with amazing stuff and all about how incredibly talented our bodies are!!

Without you even having to THINK, your body performs thousands, of not millions of processes to keep you alive!

It’s an understatement to say that it’s the most important, valuable possession that you will ever have.

Look after yourself, be kind and don’t forget to appreciate how awesome you are!

No ones perfect but these incredible organisms give your soul a home 💕

I absolutely love this!
It also couldn’t be closer to the truth in the current world that we live in ✨
There is so much that’s happening right now that is completely out of our control, so don’t burry your head in the negativity and chaos!
Be aware, but choose to focus your energy on the things you have control over!
Continue to do those things that make you happy!!
What are you doing to fill your cup??
❤️

Now, more than ever, amongst the uncertainty of life with COVID-19, we need to be looking after ourselves!

Time to focus on our own immune system and work on strengthening that, so if anything comes along, we’ve got fighting chance to beat it.

GUT HEALTH is a really great place to start!

What I’ve learnt recently is how important our gut health is and how intertwined it is with our immune system.

Immune systems are quite complex, but in a simplified understanding its split into 2
- Innate Immunity: The 1st line of defence where it reacts, this occurs almost immediately and up to 96 hours after
- Adaptive Immunity: Is more specifically acquired and complex. This develops our own natural antibodies and long-term benefits

Research has found that 70-80% of our immune system is in our gut.

The bacterial diversity also impacts inflammation within the body.

Ever heard of the saying that “disease starts in the gut?”

Today (generally speaking), unfortunately the diets that we’ve become accustomed to are ones based around highly processed and packaged foods
Not to mention the over consumption of sugar, alcohol… (guilty) and GMO foods.

Although on one had I can completely understand how this has come about, it doesn’t take away the fact that there are many negative side effects for us!

The scary thing is that we cannot actually see what is happening inside us from day to day.

Gut health is pretty important when it comes to building a strong immunity!

The exciting thing is that we have so many incredible options to be able to help re-build!

- Eat well, eat REAL FOOD
Whatever diet that aligns with your body
Avoid processed/packaged foods, sugar and bad vegetable oils
- Introduce amazing products like Bone broth. This helps to rebuild your gut lining and to absorb nutrients properly
- Eat fermented foods like Sauerkraut, Kimchi, Miso and cultured yoghurts for your prebiotics!
- Lots of filtered water to help flush any toxins
- Sleep! Don’t burn yourself out, that creates a whole other issue

If you’re someone who is actually suffering in any way with any gut issues, I definitely urge you to seek medical advice. Prevention is key!

Much love,
Georgia

One of the biggest lessons that I have learnt is that “health” is not just one pillar.
You have to consider the physical, spiritual, and emotional.
I’ve been pondering on where to start with sharing my knowledge.. what comes 1st?
It honestly takes my thoughts in hundreds of different directions because one thing leads to another and then back around again to something else.
So, I guess I just start?
Today has been one of those days of which I got to learn a little bit more about myself. Understand more about what triggers emotional responses in my body.
Throughout my journey, one of the biggest influences of pain has come from emotional triggers that I, at the time, have been completely unaware of.
I’ve learnt that sometimes these emotional responses can be so extreme that the brain will manifest it as pain in a completely “unrelated” way/area.
You can spend weeks, months, even years focusing on a particular area to try heal it but it never seem to quite go away... I’ve been lucky enough to have found an incredible Functional Doctor who has introduced me to “Neuro Emotional Technique” (NET). It is a mind-body approach that focuses on the treatment of stress related conditions. It recognizes and alleviates neurological imbalances that are associated with physiology and unresolved stress.
It’s has been one of the most rewarding techniques that I have come across and the level of understanding that comes from it is priceless.
Although today had me in tears, going through some of my deep subconscious emotions, I couldn’t be more thankful for the incredible Dr Trev at for never giving up on me and finding the root cause.
He is my biggest influence for finally chasing my dream ❤️

It’s a scary thing to throw yourself outside your comfort zone!
The fear of failure or judgement can stop you from chasing something you really want. The thoughts of what if this or that can be crippling.... BUT once you learn to back yourself and embrace the journey and change, it can be the most rewarding thing you have ever done!!
I am so thankful for all my mums famous one liner quotes of wisdom, embedded into my brain over the years to push me to continue to grow and be the best I can be!!
I love you
