Could your asthma be harder to manage this spring?

As pollen levels rise and the risk of thunderstorm asthma increases, it’s a good time to check in on your asthma especially if you’ve been stretching out prescriptions or relying on your puffer more often.

Dr Jonathan Brown, Medical Director of Bupa Medical, shares the signs it might be time to review your asthma management.

Prevention is the best medicine so don’t wait for an asthma attack to think about your asthma.

Some of the most important post-match conversations don't happen in the changerooms.

For Carlton Football Club player Sam Walsh, it's the call to his dad.

The first person he speaks to after every game, and someone he leans on through all of life's highs and lows.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads and father figures celebrating today.

Earlier this week, the Blues faithful brought plenty of noise to IKON Park for Carlton Football Club’s open training session.

Jerseys on, signs up and voices roaring.

Tonight, it’s game time.

Good luck to the Blues as they take on the Cats. As Carlton’s member partner, we are right behind them this Finals series.

Go Blues! 💙

No one should feel like they're navigating their health journey alone.

That's the thinking behind Blua Health Programs, which provide personalised support to customers after a health event or diagnosis, helping them understand what comes next and stay on track with their health goals.

For Katie Sherlock and her team, it's often the small moments that matter most.

💙 A customer feeling more confident
💙 Someone sticking with a new healthy habit
💙 A clearer understanding of what to do next

"The moments after a health event can feel uncertain," says Katie. "Our role is to simplify what comes next and support people in a way that feels manageable."

It's all part of helping people feel supported, connected and cared for when they need it most.

For years, Greg’s drinking had become part of his daily routine.

What started as a glass in the evening eventually grew into three bottles of wine a night during a stressful period of his life.

But with the right support through Bupa's partnership with Clean Slate Clinic's, Greg was able to take control and completely change his relationship with alcohol.

His story is a reminder that change is possible, and you don’t have to do it alone.

Behind the scenes of Bupa’s digital health platform Blua, Lachlan Kelly helps transform complex clinical information into clear, practical guidance that helps people take the next step in their health with confidence.

As a Digital Health Subject Matter Expert, Lachlan works with clinical evidence and expertise to ensure the advice and tools available through Blua are trusted, relevant and easy to act on.

“Good health experiences should feel simple - but they need strong clinical foundations behind them,” he says.

One example is Lachlan’s work on the health check planner in the Blua Mobile App, which uses clinical evidence to provide personalised recommendations based on factors such as age and birth s*x.

This helps customers understand which health checks they may need, when they may need them and how often.

By making health advice easier to understand and act on, Lachlan is helping remove barriers to care and supporting more people to take action earlier.

Every step brings us closer to a healthier future.

This month, our people, corporate partners, and community partners are coming together for the 2026 Healthy Cities challenge, aiming to turn collective movement into more than $1 million for local planting projects that help create greener, healthier communities.

Aussie marathon legend Robert de Castella AO, MBE, helped launch the challenge, inspiring us to think big about what is possible when thousands of people take small steps together. Last year, more than 16,000 participants took more than 4.4 billion steps across Asia Pacific.

Over the past two years, Sreeyesh has grown his career at our Bankstown aged care home, starting as a nurse before transitioning into his current role as a wellbeing carer.

While his role has evolved, his passion for supporting residents has remained the same.

Whether he’s helping create meaningful moments for residents, supporting his teammates or lending a hand wherever needed, Sreeyesh brings care and compassion to everything he does.

“I like helping wherever I can. Every day is different, and that’s what I enjoy most,” Sreeyesh says.

His journey is a great example of the opportunities to grow, learn and build a rewarding career in aged care.

December spends much of her working life behind a camera, capturing moments and people being themselves.

For Wear It Purple Day, we turned the camera towards her.

Growing up, December didn’t always feel like there was a safe space for her. That changed during her first year of university, at a dinner party surrounded by other q***r people.

“We had dinner, played board games, and for the first time in my life, I felt completely safe. I felt like myself. I felt like there was a future,’ she says.

Now working in production at Bupa, storytelling remains an important part of who she is, both behind the camera and as a q***r voice helping bring other people’s stories to life.

“Quiet support and visible allyship can genuinely change someone’s life. It can make someone feel safe, seen and less alone.”

This Wear It Purple Day, December’s message is simple: “Don’t stop until you find your safe space. It exists.”
