It was a real honour to be the guest of honour at the Stroke Week afternoon tea at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne.

I received such a warm welcome from the incredible stroke ward nurses and had the opportunity to share my stroke story with everyone.

The F.A.S.T. message highlights the most common signs of stroke:
🧠 Face drooping
💪 Arm weakness
🗣️ Speech difficulties
⏱️ Time to call for help immediately

Although my stroke 12 years ago was unpreventable, raising awareness of these signs can help save lives. The sooner a stroke is recognised and treated, the better the outcome can be.

A heartfelt thank you to the Stroke Foundation and St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne for inviting me to speak and for the important work you do to educate our community.

Really grateful to have delivered a StrokeSafe presentation today at Wheelers Hill Library as part of the Stroke Foundation awareness program. It was a great session with an engaged audience who asked thoughtful and insightful questions.

One moment that really stayed with me was when a participant shared she would go and get her blood pressure checked after the talk. Since managing blood pressure is such a key factor in stroke prevention, it felt incredibly meaningful to know the session made a real impact.

Small conversations can lead to important changes - feeling thankful to be part of something that helps make a difference in people’s lives.
