It's National Reconciliation Week.

It is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements to recommit ourselves to reconciliation and the fight for First Nations justice in Australia.

This year's theme, 'All In', is a call for all people to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day, channeling the power of everyday actions in building meaningful change in the community.

At SHV, being part of Reconciliation means advocating for Indigenous health and wellbeing outcomes, supporting self-determination and fostering respectful relationships that create positive change. Together, we are committed to supporting our ongoing journey of Reconciliation at SHV and look towards a future where s*xual healthcare and services are available and accessible to all people.

Today is National Sorry Day ❤️💛🖤

26 May is a day to remember and acknowledge the mistreatment of First Nations people who were forcibly removed from their families, communities, culture and Country.

This date marks the anniversary of the 1997 Bringing Them Home report, which shed light on the Stolen Generations. And since then, we now also recognise another important milestone on this date - the historic delivery of the Uluru Statement from the Heart by Megan Davis in 2017.

National Sorry Day is a time for both reflection and action. By acknowledging both past wrongs and what continues to happen today, we take a crucial step toward reconciliation and healing.

Because saying "sorry" means ensuring it never happens again.

We’re saddened and disappointed to share this news.

Rising costs, limited space and funding that hasn’t kept pace with demand have meant our CBD clinic could not grow in a way that sustains increasing overheads. To future‑proof our organisation, we’ve made the difficult decision to close our CBD site and consolidate services in Box Hill.

We’ve expanded our Box Hill clinic with three additional consultation rooms, and no staff roles have been lost. As a not‑for‑profit charity, we remain committed to providing low‑cost, accessible care for our community and we hope to grow again in the future at a new location.

STIs remain high across Victoria, and getting tested is as important as ever.

Content warning: This post contains discussions of suicidal thoughts and ideation.

PMDD is not just bad PMS.

Pre-Menstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) is a condition that causes significant emotional, psychological and physical symptoms that can cause distress one to two weeks before a person's period. It can be very challenging for people to navigate, as symptoms can impact daily life, relationships, work and wellbeing.

Tracking symptoms over time, using hormonal treatments and/or antidepressants can be effective in making symptoms more manageable.
