Coach Kyz

Coach Kyz I help combat athletes get fight READY through smart nutrition and weight room training!

01/06/2026

DM READY to get started before June 14th! We will have a first come first serve waitlist starting between June 14th to July 17-20th as we are close to capacity. Athletes on the waitlist can potentially start earlier but it will depend on capacity changes as the month goes by.

If you’re been on the fence, and need to get a team around you to level up the gas tank and nutrition strategy, this is your chance unless you want to lose another month to indecision you won’t get back 👊

Dan came to us struggling with his endurance and energy levels in past fights. It’s the common story we see a ton, a high level amateur fighter who has very high technical ability, but the body can’t keep up due to unsafe cutting practice, and overly fatiguing “conditioning” protocols

After 6 months of work together Dan is now equipped to be the healthiest version of himself as a fighter, which as parents , is what you should hope for with your kids in combat sports

It costs you more and more every 6 months to let your kid juggle S&C and nutrition demands by themselves, because extra coaching is “too expensive”.

Let me ask you, would it be more expensive to see your child sick, injured, consistently losing fights moving into adulthood which leads to a cascade of unhealthy habits as they get older… or is it more expensive to see your kid healthy, thriving and satisfied with their journey regardless of the wins or losses?

The bill of failure is much more expensive than investing in your children’s mentoring.

A fantastic, very close fight! But it’s my job to take a deeper look into both approaches from a critical lens. I’m okay with scrutiny in the comments, and yes you could say Strickland is just the better fighter, but it is ignorant to think the guy who cut over 20kg on fight week, doing bosu ball/grindy ergometer workouts as “s&c” would stay at the very top

YES, elite athletes will always exist even if their approaches are sub optimal…. That just means more fighters over time can take lessons from them

Especially if you’re “all in”, please face the reality, most athletes would not survive in this sport doing what Khamzat has done his whole career… and that’s fine, we just saw Strickland beat him despite everyone having more belief in Khamzat

I coach fighters that are 35 yo BJJ purple belts with a business, and I also coach junior athletes who’s parents support their kids health and performance because they know nothing is more expensive than seeing their kids health go to s**t doing something they’re passionate about

But… There’s a large group of martial artists in between at ages 20-30 that think the world owes them something, that everything is too expensive, the “WHY ME” mentality, these same people at the drop of a hat will burn money on a car loan or holiday when 24 hours prior they said they want to be a champion in their weight class or optimise their health

Either own up to it that you genuinely don’t want it that bad, or keep quiet

By no means am I trying to coach you if you are broke, I have plenty of athletes that I am grateful for who are financially literate and understand the return they’re getting long term, not for their 20 year old bodies and mind in between fight camps, but for the 30 and 40 year old version of them that doesn’t have to get a hip and knee replacement or deal with excess body fat.

Maybe you can hire us or another performance coach in a year, all I know is if you have genuine free time in your schedule and you’re complaining that “work is cutting my hours” or “finances are rough”… WHY ARE YOU NOT SPENDING EVERY HOUR POSSIBLE SPARE, getting:

-a security qualification
-a warehouse or labouring job
-a sales job
-marketing yourself and learning how to create content

So that later on, even though you’re struggling now, you can actually support yourself

No sponsor or coach owes you s**t if you don’t market yourself, that’s the reality.

Oh wait let me guess “I don’t have time”… what a cop out excuse.

has worked with the combat engine performance team for 4 fights now and has improved remarkably since we began! He used to cut weight with zero structure and longevity in mind, and did the typical PPL split like most unguided martial artists

Being a busy barber himself along side full time boxing training, Randeep knew doing this all himself would do him a disservice so he delegated like a professional

Hear what boxer had to say about his time on The Combat Engine performance team so far 🙌🏼

As a busy martial artist, Baran knew he couldn’t afford to navigate the science behind adequate S&C and nutrition himself, so he took action…

From lack of structure to an intentional system, he’ll never have to worry about making weight, and being top condition and health for his future bouts

The tool you use doesn’t necessarily matter, although the airbike has a low technical demand, it can also get stale like anything else! What’s important is the effort applied and the thought process behind the work to rest ratios, and working with the athlete in front of us

A Muay Thai fighters schedule, environment and culture can heavily impact the way we program, versus an MMA fighter training out of the best facility in the USA

This is why I test closely and gather a lot of contextual data from my martial artists. I have many athletes who never use the air bike, only hill sprints and treadmills, and some who only use the air bike, both see great results 👊

Dm “PERFORMANCE” for 1on1 performance S&C and nutrition coaching if you’re a hobbyist to elite martial artist!

Comment “TEMPLATE” for some S&C session layouts that allow you to develop solid strength/power/conditioning long term for martial arts 👊

You need a healthy dose of strength and hypertrophy work in any good program ALONGSIDE speed and power work to become more explosive over time

Every martial artist should become as Jacked as necessary to get what they need from strength work, and then learn to maintain those qualities year round

Don’t take my word for it, check out the athlete results on my page too.
