The first conversations. The careful listening. The quiet moments of connection that will become the heartbeat of "Shifting Classrooms."

This is where our documentary truly begins not with cameras but with trust. Behind every story of inclusive education in Malawi is a person, a voice and an experience waiting to be honoured.

Stay tuned. We’re just getting started and I can’t wait to share more of the journey with you.

Welcome to Shifting Classrooms: Stories of Inclusive Education in Malawi!

This project explores how inclusive education is transforming secondary schools in Malawi through the voices of students with disabilities, their peers, teachers, families and advocates.

The centrepiece of this project is a short documentary that brings policy to life through human stories.

Expect the following:

-Behind the scenes updates from filming in schools
-Voices of students, parents, teachers and advocates
-Reflections on inclusive education policy and practice
-Invitations to screenings and community discussions.

Grateful to The Hansen Little Public Humanities Grants and The Melbourne Public Humanities Initiative for supporting this work and helping amplify underrepresented voices.

Join me on this journey to reimagine classrooms as spaces of equity, dignity, and dialogue.
