Kids grow fast, and aches can be normal.

However, not all pains are just "growing pains." Persistent pain in one area, during sports, causing limping or affecting performance should be checked.

Conditions like Sever’s disease and Osgood-Schlatter disease can arise during growth and worsen with running/jumping activities.

An assessment can identify the cause and help manage their activity. The goal is to keep kids moving safely as they grow.

Shalin, who is one of our physiotherapists at Ballarat Sports Medicine demonstrates how to tape a knee to provide support and help manage discomfort during activity.

Taping can be useful in some situations, but it is important to understand what is causing the pain or instability. Our team can assess your knee, provide an accurate diagnosis and develop a treatment plan to help you safely return to sport.

We're proud to see Dr Jai Sharma from Ballarat Sports Medicine contributing to new research into concussion in elite cricket.

The study found that many players who sustain a concussion show few or no obvious signs, reinforcing why concussion requires expert medical assessment—not just observation.

It's all part of our commitment to evidence-based care, helping athletes of all levels return to sport safely.
