Our second InLife Tackle Free Carnival for 2026, held at St Albans on Sunday, May 24th, was a fantastic success!

It was great to see so many players out on the field enjoying the day, supported by families, volunteers, and clubs coming together in such a positive and inclusive environment. These events continue to showcase the strong sense of community that makes FIDA so special.

A big thank you to St Albans Saints FIDA FC for hosting and for all the work behind the scenes to ensure the day ran smoothly.

We also extend our appreciation to InLife Independent Living and their dedicated volunteers for their continued support of the carnivals.

We’re already looking forward to the next one on July 5th!

AFL Open 2026 – Coming Back to Bundoora! 🏉

We’re excited that the AFL Open is returning to Bundoora in 2026 for the second year in a row!
Dates: October 12th–14th

This is a fantastic opportunity for our umpires, players, and coaches to be part of a national carnival and showcase their skills on a big stage.

What an incredible experience being part of the Round 🙌
We were proud to take part in a special exhibition game that not only showcased FIDA, but also highlighted the strength, inclusion, and spirit of our community. It was an honour for our FIDA All Stars and Lower Plenty Bears FIDA Football Club taking the field in the opening match.
A huge thank you to the Pat Cronin Foundation for the opportunity and for the important work you do in raising awareness around respect and safety. We’d also like to thank the Lower Plenty for welcoming our All Stars and being part of such a meaningful occasion.
It was fantastic to see so many people come together to support such an important cause. Moments like these remind us what sport is all about, connection, inclusion, and making a positive impact.

We’ve been invited to take part in a special exhibition game as part of the Pat Cronin Foundation Round.

We’d love to see as many people there as possible to help showcase FIDA and the incredible impact our community has, while also supporting the Pat Cronin Foundation and the important work they do raising awareness around respect and safety.

We encourage everyone to get down, get involved, and help shine a light on both FIDA and Pat Cronin Foundation.

Join us at the Lower Plenty Football & Netball Club (Park Lane Montmorency) on Saturday morning (2 May) as 3AW's Darren James broadcasts his ever popular Saturday morning show live from 6.00am to 12.00pm to help to promote the Pat Cronin Foundation Round.

The canteen will be open with bacon and egg rolls and barista made coffees for sale. Pat Cronin Foundation merchandise will also be available to purchase.

There will be an exhibition match of the Lower Plenty Bears FIDA Football Club versus a FIDA All Star team from 10.00am - to see a FIDA match played will melt your hearts.

Pat Cronin Foundation Ambassador Matthew 'Richo' Richardson will be at the ground between 10.00am and 11.00am so come along and say hello to Richo - he might even pose for a selfie with you.

Skipper the Owl is also tipped to make a special appearance.

What an incredible day at our 2026 Season Launch 🎉

A huge thank you to all those involved in making the day a big success! Thank you to Williamstown FIDA FC for hosting. Thank you to InLife Independent Living and Studiotech Australia for the support.

A big congratulations to all players who participated in the game, with the FIDA InLife Local Legends taking the Footy4Everyone Cup in a great game against the Studiotech Australia Parliamentary Owls.

And thank you to our Parliamentary Members who came along to both play in the game and support the day!

Here's to an exciting 2026 season ahead!

A huge thank you to the Monash Demons for hosting our first InLife Tackle Free Carnival by FIDA for 2026 on the 29th of March.

Well done to all involved in the day, players, supporters and volunteers alike. The canteen was a big hit also!

It is wonderful having such a supportive partner in InLife Independent Living including all their fantastic volunteers attending the event also.

We look forward to our next InLife Tackle Free Carnival by FIDA on the 24th of May, we are hoping to share the next event within other club zones into the future, the next group of clubs will receive an email with details regarding hosting.
