Think you might have a fracture? Don’t wait it out.

Not all fractures are obvious. Some people can still move the area or even walk on it — but that doesn’t mean it’s not broken.

If a fracture isn’t properly diagnosed and treated early, it can lead to:
❌ Healing in the wrong position
❌ Ongoing pain or stiffness
❌ Reduced strength and function
❌ Delayed healing or complications

Even small or “hairline” fractures can worsen if you keep using the injured area.

Getting it checked early means:
✔️ Accurate diagnosis (X-ray or imaging if needed)
✔️ Proper immobilisation and treatment
✔️ Better pain control
✔️ A clear recovery plan to get you back on track

If you’re unsure, it’s always better to get it assessed — early care can make a big difference to healing and long-term outcomes.

Shoulder Dislocation: More Than “Just Popping It Back In”

A dislocated shoulder can happen in seconds — during sport, a fall, at the gym or even from a simple accident. But proper assessment and follow-up care are important to help prevent ongoing pain, weakness and repeat dislocations.

Common signs of a shoulder dislocation include:
✔️ Severe shoulder pain
✔️ Visible deformity
✔️ Inability to move the arm
✔️ Swelling or bruising
✔️ Tingling or numbness

After the shoulder is relocated, recovery doesn’t stop there. Some patients may also have associated injuries such as ligament tears, fractures or instability that need ongoing management.

Early treatment, imaging and rehabilitation can make a big difference to recovery and help reduce the risk of future dislocations.

At Balance Fracture Clinic, we provide assessment, fracture and injury management, and ongoing care to support your recovery and return to activity.

Sometimes the best approach is to strengthen an existing cast rather than replace it too early.

📸 Photo 1: A plaster of Paris cast reinforced with fiberglass to provide additional support for an unstable fracture. Although not waterproof, this technique can improve stability while avoiding unnecessary movement of the healing bone.

📸 Photo 2: Three weeks later, once the fracture had stabilised further, the reinforced cast was removed and replaced with a waterproof cast for improved comfort and convenience.

Our dedicated treatment room and onsite casting facilities allow us to tailor fracture care at every stage of healing, offering patients the most appropriate casting options throughout their recovery.
