Introducing the Red Hot Jilly Peppers 🌶️💃🏼
On the 10th of Feb, 2023, one of my biggest cheerleaders & second Mum lost her battle with Melanoma. Whether you knew Jillian personally or, have met anyone who has been touched by her, you would know that her fierce love for life, being active & being by the ocean were a huge part in shaping her into the incredible lady that she was.
Melanoma is the most common cancer affecting 20 to 39-year-old Australians, with one person diagnosed every 30mins. One thing we know for sure, skin cancer does not discriminate, living in the beautiful Aussie sun increases all of our risk.
From start to finish of her Melanoma journey, Jill remained a strong advocate for Melanoma awareness. Whether it was encouraging friends to have their skin checked or encouraging her bestie to stock sunscreen in her gift store, Jill wanted to ensure that everyone's awareness continued to grow.
To honour our darling Jill, me & 5 of my very obliging pals have signed up to the Noosa half marathon and 10km race. For most of us, running is not our go to choice of movement but, in the spirit of Jill always giving things a crack we’ve decided to step up to the challenge.
So, to keep us motivated & to continue Jill’s legacy, we have set up a fundraiser to support the Melanoma Institute of Australia! Over the next 11 weeks while we train for the big event, we aim to raise $1200.
Whether it is $1 or $10 (donations over $2 are tax deductible) that you can spare, all funds raised will support continued world-class research, treatment & education programs to save more lives from melanoma. Link can be found below ❣️
Thank you for your support, Jill would be extremely thankful and proud that her message to the world continues xx
