The heat does not discriminate.

There would not be many places in the world where 3 generations can sit side by side, sharing the same warmth, the same steam and, eventually, the same sweat.

TravelSaunas loves the simple idea that age, and the busyness of everyday life seem to fade into the warmth of the sauna. There is something universal about people sharing warmth, conversation and time together.

For us, Travel Saunas has always been more than simply getting warm. It's about creating a space where people can slow down, look after themselves and connect with the people around them.

There’s something different about a real wood fire.

The wood has been cut, split and carried in by hand.
The fire is lit and given time to build.
Then eventually, the sauna comes to life.

There are probably easier ways to create heat, but for us, the traditional wood-fired experience is part of what makes Travel Saunas special.

The smell of the timber.
The warmth of the fire.
The crackle of a log burning, or the occasional roar as the fire takes hold.

There’s something about sitting beside a fire that seems to give us permission to let our guard down.

Maybe it's because fire asks nothing of us. You don't need to achieve anything or be anywhere else.

You can simply sit, listen, breathe and be warm.

It's one of those simple things that we hope never gets lost from the Travel Saunas experience.

Some of our favourite moments happen outside the sauna.

When Amber and I started Travel Saunas, we thought a lot about the experience inside the sauna.

But we're starting to appreciate the moments that happen in between the heat and cold.

Sitting under a tree.
Taking a slow sip of water.
Cooling down.
Having a conversation with someone beside you.
Or simply sitting quietly for a few minutes.

It reminds us a little of breathing.

We focus on the inhale and the exhale, but there is also that tiny moment of stillness between the two.

Maybe the sauna is similar.

There’s the warmth, then the cool air. The conversation, then the quiet. And somewhere between the two, a chance to simply pause.

These little transitions give us a chance to notice our surroundings, reconnect with the people we're with, and simply slow life down for a while.

And really, that's what Travel Saunas has always been about.

Sometimes it starts with a conversation.

I recently met a lovely lady called Chris, who works with the Visitor Guide at lakescoast.com.au and many other things.

We got chatting, I shared the story of TravelSaunas, and from that conversation came an unexpected opportunity.

TravelSaunas will now be featured in the East Gippsland tourism guide summer edition, in the Marlo section.

It might only be a small step, but it feels pretty special.

I'm learning that this little business is just as much about the people you meet, the conversations you have and the doors that unexpectedly open as it is about sauna.

Connection in the heat and cold.

One of my favourite things about the sauna and cold plunge isn’t actually the sauna and cold plunge.

It’s what happens during it.

Conversations seem to slow down. People laugh, listen and reconnect. Sometimes nothing needs to be said at all.

Slow down

Life can get busy pretty quickly.

TravelSaunas was created from a simple idea that sometimes we need somewhere to slow down, breathe, feel the heat and come back to ourselves.

No phones. No rushing. Just warmth, conversation and a little time to be present.

Thats what TravelSaunas is really about.

The comfort zone is a great place but nothing ever grows there.

My partner and I often speak about having kids. However, I reguarly get held back by the thought of not being in a financial position I would like to be. This is an example of how I find myself getting held but the idea of being secure and safe. We spend alot of our time finding ways to be safe and comfortable. what kind of world would there be if we did the opposite?

A really awesome way to start is sweating or shivering, give a sauna and cold plunge a go this Sunday.
