😴 SLEEP + RECOVERY — IT’S PART OF YOUR HEALTH
Let’s be honest… life is coming at us all hard/ fast lately and we are doing A LOT.
Working, parenting, training, running a household, looking after everyone else — and somehow we’re expected to keep going like we don’t need a reset. ❤️
But sleep isn’t wasted time. It’s when your body gets to work.
While you sleep, your body is busy supporting:
✨ Muscle repair & recovery
✨ Hormone regulation
✨ Brain function & focus
✨ Immune health
✨ Energy & mood
✨ Appetite & metabolism
For most adults, 7–9 hours of sleep a night is the sweet spot to aim for.
And what you eat can be part of the bigger picture too. 🥝
🌙 FOODS TO ADD TO YOUR EVENING ROUTINE
🥝 Kiwi — contains nutrients that may support sleep quality.
🌰 Walnuts — provide healthy fats and naturally occurring melatonin.
🥣 Greek yoghurt — protein + calcium to support recovery.
🐟 Salmon — protein + omega-3 fats to support recovery and overall health.
🎃 Pumpkin seeds — rich in magnesium, which supports normal muscle and nervous-system function.
🍌 Banana — provides magnesium, potassium and carbohydrates.
🥚 Eggs — protein + tryptophan, an amino acid involved in melatonin production.
🥬 Dark leafy greens — packed with magnesium and folate.
🌼 Chamomile tea — naturally caffeine-free and a lovely calming bedtime ritual.
No single food is going to magically fix your sleep.
But nourishing your body, moving regularly, managing stress and creating a consistent bedtime routine can all add up.
So tonight, instead of thinking “I’ll sleep when everything is done…”
remember:
You deserve the rest too. ❤️
Your body works hard for you all day.
Give it the chance to recover.
Health and Happiness
