We’re excited to welcome Nurse Dee to Team Shade 💛

Deanna brings a wealth of experience across hospitals, general practice, workplace health, and specialised skin cancer screening, with a strong passion for prevention and early detection. She has completed advanced training in dermoscopy 🔎 and is currently undertaking her 👩‍🎓Masters of Nursing, working towards becoming a Nurse Practitioner in Skin Cancer Medicine.

Outside the clinic, Dee is a proud mum of three and a true ocean lover…with a slight obsession with orcas! 🌊🐳

Dee is excited to join Team Shade and help our community stay skin safe ☀️

Rodent Ulcer Case Study🔎

Patient presented with a non-healing wound following a gardening injury. On assessment during a spot check, the lesion was identified as a ‼️Nodular Basal Cell Carcinoma‼️also known as a rodent ulcer.

Dr Mikey and Dr Chris worked collaboratively to perform a transposition flap procedure to excise the lesion and optimise healing outcomes.

This case highlights the importance of having any non-healing or changing skin lesions assessed by a professional.
