We made it to the final interview round for the Telstra Best of Business Awards. Even if we don’t win this has been a great experience, getting our journey and mission down on paper. Sharing the vision, the plan, the numbers and the passion! I love a good interview and honesty put my/our best food forward.

We have a lot to celebrate and without our community behind us none of this would be possible. Thank you to all of our supporters, let’s make Australia proud. 🥲

Wish us luck, the state winners are announced October 15th. 🙏🙌🏻☺️

Thanks to our amazing book keeper Vicki Mills for the nomination.

What people are saying about Happy Healthy 💙

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to nutrition and there’s definitely no single definition of “results”.

For some of our clients, it’s weight loss.
For others, it’s getting stronger, performing better, having more energy, feeling confident around food or finally finding an approach they can actually stick to.

These messages come from Happy Healthy clients across the board, from our Nutrition Club, in-clinic clients and members working with us through our gym partnerships.

Different goals. Different starting points. Different journeys.

But the common thread? Real people getting real results with nutrition that works for their life. 🫶

So rather than us telling you what Happy Healthy can do…

Here’s what our clients have to say. 👇

🍌🍪 HYROX WEEKEND = TIME TO TALK PRE-WORKOUT FUEL! 💪🔥

If you’re taking on HYROX this weekend, the hard work is done. Now it’s about making sure you’re fuelled, hydrated and ready to perform.

A good pre-workout snack doesn’t need to be complicated. Look for something that’s carbohydrate-rich, easy to digest and familiar to you, especially as you get closer to race time.

These Banana Oat Cookies are an easy option to meal prep and have ready to grab before training. 🍌

🍪 BANANA OAT COOKIES

Ingredients:
🍌 100g banana
🌾 200g oats
🥚 1 egg
🌱 20g h**p seeds
🍁 50g maple syrup

Method:
1. Preheat oven to 170°C and line a baking tray.
2. Mash the banana.
3. Add all ingredients and mix well.
4. Roll into 10 balls and place on the tray.
5. Flatten with your palm.
6. Bake for 20–30 minutes until golden.
7. Cool on a baking rack.
👉 2 cookies = 1 serve

Perfect for lunch boxes, afternoon tea or pre-workout fuel. 💙

🏃‍♀️ HYROX TIP: Don’t try something completely new on race day! If you want to use these as pre-workout fuel, try them during training first and make sure they sit well.

Good luck to everyone racing this weekend! 🔥

You’ve done the training. Now fuel the work. 💙

Doing Hyrox in Perth next week?

Come and learn Hyrox Carb Loading Tips with Nutritionist Jessica Lowe Jessica Lowe: Happy Healthy Nutrition & Hyrox World Champion, Elite 15 & LSKD Athlete Nicole Bertei | HYROX AthlNicole Bertei | HYROX Athlete & Coachinterview that covered all the basic fuelling tips for Hyrox! 🚀

What we covered:
- Don’t drop your carbs and nutrition the week before when you deload your training, this is when you want to eat the same or even more to build your glycogen stores in your muscles! 💪🏼

- Aim for 5-6 grams of carbs per kilo of body weight per day in the days leading up to Hyrox

- Aim for 1-1.5 grams of easy to digest simple carbs one hour before you race think things like honey, juice, dates, fruit, fruit juice.

- Have a massive carb heavy dinner the night before, Nicole’s fav is Spag Bog with LOTS of GF white pasta.

- When you plan your high carb meals try and have low fibre choices like white rice, white bread and white pasta- this is not body composition nutrition this is all about fuelling your performance.

- Drink electrolytes before and after.

- Take your post race nutrition with you. You won’t feel hungry right after so pack a protein shake so you can give your body the protein it needs to rebuild in the anabolic window. Then have a big balanced high carb meal to prevent any DOM’s. Nicole’s hot top is to stay away from Cherry ripes and burgers 🤣

- Stay away from salad, spicy food and high fat food the days leading into the race and on race day.

- Don’t try something new on race day, for example if you’ve never tried a carb gel for energy then race day isn’t the best day to try this out.

- Most importantly don’t leave eating your carbs to the day, or even the day before you should be loading up all week. Don’t stress about having the perfect macro split, listen to your body and fuel, get out there smash it and have fun! 🤩

Your members don’t leave because they hate your gym…

They leave when they stop seeing results.

✅ Create new revenue streams
✅ Add more value without adding more workload

Happy Healthy Nutrition helps gyms provide personalised nutrition support without needing to hire a nutritionist or create more admin for their coaches.

Huge shoutout to Jess Sturt from 👏

This is your reminder that health progress isn’t always visible in the mirror. Sometimes the biggest changes happen in your blood work, energy levels, recovery, sleep and overall wellbeing.

Over 12 months Jess focused on consistent, sustainable nutrition habits and these improvements followed.

The goal was never perfection. The goal was building habits that fit real life.

Because true health isn’t just body fat percentage, it’s what happens beneath the surface ❤️

Viral Dumplings 🥟 done better!

-BAL 432 cal, 41g protein, 31g carbs & 11g fat

Ingredients: serves 3
500 grams Chicken Breast Mince (breast)
1 tsp Minced Ginger- fresh is best
1 tbsp Minced Garlic
2 Spring Onions, finely diced
2 tbsp Tamari Sauce - GF Soy Sauce
1 tbsp Lemon Grass, freshly chopped or from the jar
1 tsp
Sesame Oil, to cook the dumplings
125 grams Wonton Wrapper Packet (half a packet)
2 Carrots, grated

Garnish: 1 tbsp Chili Oil, Marions Kitchen (clean and no MSG)
0.25 Cup Tamari Sauce
1 spring Onion, thinly sliced

Method:

1. Start by preparing the spring onions and grating the carrots. Then bring a full kettle of water to boil.
2. Then add the chicken mince, garlic, ginger, lemon grass, tamari, grated carrots and spring onions, then mix to combine stir using your clean hands.
3. Get a deep pot or fry pan with a lid and bring to high heat, add the sesame oil. Note you will cook these dumplings in batches, and each batch will need 1 tsp of sesame oil each time.
4. When the oil is hot use a soup spoon or ice cream scoop to scoop out even amounts into the pot/pan, once you have done 8 small balls into the pot/pan ensuring they spaced out place a wonton sheet over each ball of mince like a blanket. Use your fingers to squeeze and press the sheet around the mince so it holds tight like a dumpling. Once compete pour in about a cup of boiled water around the dumplings, then place the pot/pan lid on so they steam. Leave for 6-7 minutes checking at the 6-minute mark. You can tell they are ready if the mince feel firm when you press on the dumpling and the wrappers are soft.
5. Use a spatula to remove the dumplings from the plan and place onto a plate, do it gently so they don’t break. Once done spoon on any juice left, then garnish with chili oil, spring onions and more tamari sauce.
6. Repeat the process making 3 batches. Each batch is one serve when you use 500 grams of chicken mince and 125 grams of wonton wrappers.

Yum 🤤 Great for fat loss but not suggested if training hard due to the low carbs and fat. The macros and calories are calculated with the garnish on top!
