As we prepare to welcome our first patients to our newest hospital, today we celebrated an exciting milestone for health care in Midland, with the official opening ceremony and blessing of St John of God Midland Private Hospital.
Located in the historic Midland Railway Workshops precinct, the new stand-alone 123 bed private hospital will expand access to private health care for people across Perth’s eastern suburbs, the Perth Hills and the Wheatbelt – bringing more specialist services and care closer to home.
For the first time, private patients in the Midland area will have local access to interventional cardiology, alongside expanded surgical, critical care and inpatient services.
We were honoured to have the hospital formally blessed by the Most Reverend Nelson Po, Auxiliary Bishop of Perth, as part of today’s opening ceremony and to be joined by Hon Mark Butler MP, Minister for Health and Ageing and Minister for Disability and the NDIS, Hon Meredith Hammat MLA, Minister for Health, Mental Health and Preventative Health and many special guests.
It’s an exciting moment for the many caregivers, clinicians, project teams, and partners who have worked so hard to bring our new hospital to life.
We now look forward to the most important milestone of all: welcoming our first patients on Thursday 27 August.
