Back at the dog show this weekend! 😍

After being away from the shows for a little while, I’m really excited to be heading back this weekend!

It’s always so lovely catching up with familiar faces, meeting new people and, of course, spending time with some beautiful dogs.

Here are a few of the gorgeous dogs I’ve had the pleasure of treating at shows previously.

Sometimes things just take time.

I’ve now owned this boy for almost 2½ years, and when he first came to me, he was unwell, sore, cranky and definitely not looking his best.

Fast forward to now… look at him! He’s looking a million bucks, feeling so much better in himself and has even decided that being a kids horse is his new calling 🤣

He’s treated regularly to help keep him comfortable, balanced and moving well, but more than anything, I think time, patience and listening to what he needs have made the biggest difference. 😍🫶

Sometimes the changes aren’t overnight. Sometimes they take time, consistency and a whole lot of patience… but looking back at where we started makes me pretty proud of where we are now.

Sometimes animals make the decision for themselves…

I was treating Griff today and, once I had finished, his kitty housemate who normally just watches from a distance decided to jump up onto the table.

Sometimes an animal will quite literally make themselves known and say, “I’d like some of that too.” 😂

Others might simply come and sit quietly at your feet, choosing to be close while another animal is being treated.

They can be incredibly intuitive and often seem to know when they want to be involved in a session even when they weren’t the animal I came to see.

Every horse responds differently.

Some become very still. Some yawn or blink softly. Some lick and chew. Some stretch, shift their weight, or move their lips.

These are simply examples of how an individual horse may behave while relaxing during a Bowen session.

Every horse is unique, and there isn't one "right" response.
One of the things I love most about Bowen Therapy is taking the time to listen to what each horse is telling us and tailoring every session to their individual needs.

One of my favourite things about Bali... the number of animals to pat on the streets 😂🥰.

We stopped to say hello to a few ponies we came across and met so many beautiful dogs and cats along the way.

It was also lovely to see one of the pony handlers stopping to give his pony water and feed while taking a break.
