The Royal Adelaide Show starts this weekend and we are in the thick of show prep (and business as usual mayhem).
So if you’re in Adelaide and heading along come say hi.

It’s a full family affair with my big girls (Miah and Charlie) there every day, my sister, mumma salty making a special appearance and obvs me 🤣

Hubby is the official stock runner (Middleton - Wayville 😅).

There’s a lucky dip, an epic giveaway and a bath tub full of the salty goods.

Turns out, not all Epsom salt is created equal 😅

Our usual supplier sold out because apparently we did not forecast for this level of growth 🫣

So this week I’ve been trying to find a replacement and holy s**t — I have learned more about Epsom salt than I ever expected to know 😂

Different suppliers can have completely different crystal sizes, consistency and grain integrity. And when you’re making a product like ours (where we need the salts to hold up when blended with magnesium, other salts, coconut oil + essential oils ) that actually matters.

Some of the replacements we’ve tested are much finer and start breaking down as soon as the oils are added. Same ingredient on paper. Completely different result in the finished product.

Which has made me weirdly proud of the quality of what we normally use… and also made finding a temporary replacement an absolute pain in the arse 😅

Fingers crossed I’ve finally cracked the code though because this week we have a couple of thousand bath sachets to make and fill🤞

80% of the orders that come through our doors are from people discovering Salty for the very first time.

Which still blows my fu***ng mind.

But then there’s this.

Around 40% of those customers have come back and ordered again. And today, while packing orders, I noticed this little line on a packing slip:

Total orders for this customer: 20. 🥹

Twenty times.

There is something so fu***ng humbling about that.

I never look at an order and just see an order number.

Every single one is a real person choosing to spend their hard-earned money with this little biz. Whether it’s your first order, your second, your fifth… or your twentieth.

You keep the lights on.
You keep us making.
You keep this little South Australian business growing.
You let us employ people, dream bigger, make more ridiculous things and keep doing work we genuinely give a s**t about.

And none of that is ever lost on me.

To every person finding us for the first time — welcome to the salty family. ❤️

Yeah.

We can’t see s**t either. 😂

It’s been nearly a year of Salty 2.0 and today marked our 10,000th order coming through the website.

Hand on heart I could not be more grateful that I get to do this every day but mostly I am so eternally grateful to every single person at the salty table who has given us a go.

The community is strong, the love for the products is strong and my confidence in myself and this business is at an all time high.

Here’s to the next 10k which at this rate we might just hit by the end of the year 🤣

Back story. A beautiful family sent the magnesium recovery ritual to their “nan and pop”.

I accidentally sent them a f**k it box 🙃

Today the customer ordered another recovery ritual set and I freaked the f**k out because I thought f**k… they didn’t get the replacement parcel I sent so I emailed the customer to check in.

This is what she wrote. 😭

These messages mean more to me than literally anything else in this business because it means we are making a difference.

Mumma salty has just sent a fresh batch of love notes over ready for Monday dispatch.

She’s been in hospital last week but still found time to write some new words and hold love and gratitude in her heart for every one who chooses us.

If you don’t know, my mum has been my biggest supporter in this business. For 5 years she has travelled hundred of km to help in the studio when ever I needed her.

She gave me the $25 I needed to make our prototype product when I had nothing and will always be there to cheer and support every decision I make.

She is now coming into her own, sharing her deep and beautiful love with all salty vibes community who get a piece of her heart and words in every order.

I’d be lying if I said it’s easy. As we get busier and busier there is only so much her little hands can write in a week without the spark and joy leaving.

We are working in the background on a better way to keep her words alive but to stop her fingers from cramping every 5 mins 😅

In the meantime here are 4 random messages of love in this weeks batch.
