2026 has already been a huge year for Bare Aktiv
There have been opportunities this year that honestly weren't even on my radar when I started this business a few years ago. As someone who was juggling shift work as an Emergency Nurse, coaching clients before and after shifts, and building a business from a tiny nursing quarters room, there are still moments where I have to stop and appreciate how far this journey has come.
A few weekends ago, I was grateful to attend the Port Hedland Business Excellence Awards thanks to Port Hedland Chamber of Commerce Industry
One of the things I love most about events like these is being in a room full of people who inspire you to think bigger.
People with vision.
People willing to take risks.
People who have had the courage to back themselves, even when there were no guarantees.
Because the truth is, owning a business requires you to be brave, vulnerable, and bold all at the same time.
It asks you to make decisions without knowing the outcome, put yourself out there when it feels uncomfortable, and continue showing up even when things don't go to plan.
There's something incredibly powerful about being surrounded by people who understand that journey and who continue to pursue their goals regardless.
The awards themselves are amazing, but for me, being in a room filled with ambitious, passionate people who are committed to making an impact in our community was equally inspiring.
I got to experience something even more rewarding watching two of my clients be recognised for the incredible businesses they have built.
A massive congratulations to:
🏆 Kate Farren from Katebonniehair for taking home the "Excellence in Sustainable & Environmental Practice Award"
🏆 Emily Peck from Prime First Aid and Training for taking home the "Rising Star Award"
What many people don't see is what happens behind the scenes.
The early mornings.
The long days.
The self-doubt.
The sacrifices.
The constant balancing act of trying to grow a business whilst still looking after yourself, your family, your team, and everyone around you.
As a coach, one of the biggest lessons I've learnt is that health and fitness is rarely just about health and fitness.
The women who prioritise their movement, nutrition, recovery, and wellbeing don't just benefit physically.
They show up differently.
They have more energy.
More resilience.
More confidence.
More capacity to lead.
And that has a ripple effect into every area of life, including business.
It's no coincidence that some of the highest-performing women I know have also made their health a non-negotiable.
Being able to support women as they build stronger bodies, stronger minds, and ultimately stronger businesses is something I never take for granted.
Kate and Em, thank you for allowing me to be a small part of your journeys.
Watching you both back yourselves, stay committed to your vision, and be recognised for your hard work has been incredibly special.
This is exactly why I do what I do
