ILC's 'Grow, Catch & Cook' program operates at or around our Lake Cathie Community Hub and Garden on Wednesday afternoons. This group program is a nature and outdoors-based capacity building program, focusing on Growing (in our community garden), Catching (fish in the lake) and Cooking (meals and snacks, using our centre's facilities).

Our participants recently had the opportunity to plant their own make-and-take succulent garden... choosing succulents and pebbles, ornaments and decorations for their individual take-home pots.

To join our GCC crew, or any of our fully-funded, free-to-attend group programs, contact Amy on [email protected] or use the link below to register!

This term, members of both of ILC's Raising Warriors and Empower Her - Women's Wellness programs had the opportunity to make nature/ flower crowns in our groups... facilitated by one of our own participants Natalie, who brings her artistic talents and flair to our community.

Natalie demonstrated techniques and supported her peers to design and create their own tiaras and crowns, in this fun and creative group class.

When complete, ILC's group program facilitator Amy took photos of each of our proud participants, wearing their flower crowns and celebrating their own and each others' achievements. These photos were printed and framed, and gifted as a special treat, back to our participants... who usually find themselves on the other side of the camera, capturing memories of their families and kids.

To be part of our social, capacity building, creative and empowering groups, use the link below to register, or contact Amy on [email protected] for more information.

This week saw the beginning of ILC's Term 2 Social and Capacity Building Group Programs.

These include a variety of arts, wellbeing, life skills and nature programs that support participation in community, networking with peers and developing new social and creative skills, in an informal, non-confronting and welcoming environment.

Our women's wellness sessions saw groups of like-minded ladies making take-home positive affirmation cards, and creating and writing their own 'horoscopes' in a goals-focused format... releasing these intentions to the universe for culmination and manifestation.

๐ŸŒŸ Term 1 Wrap-Up & Term 2 Invitation ๐ŸŒŸ

What an incredible Term 1 weโ€™ve had! Our programs were full of connection, creativity, and fun. Participants enjoyed a wide range of activities including fishing adventures, cooking together, potting herbs, and getting creative with wire beading and string art. We also explored movement and culture through belly dancing and created meaningful pieces like our Tree of Life.

Itโ€™s been wonderful to see new friendships form, skills grow, and confidence build across all our sessions ๐Ÿ’š

Now, weโ€™re excited to do it all again in Term 2!

If youโ€™re looking to get involved in a welcoming, inclusive space where you can learn new skills, meet great people, and have fun โ€“ weโ€™d love to have you join us.
