Stop treating yourself like a project and start treating yourself like a person. Because honestly?

F**k we've lost our way a little.

We're trying to "uncover", "rediscover", "repair", "heal", "optimise", "regulate".

We chase the next protocol. The next thing that's supposedly "wrong" with us.

We've outsourced our own regulation to something outside ourselves.

We've become so busy analysing our lives that we've forgotten how to actually live them.

So busy trying to listen to experts that we've stopped listening to ourselves.

Health should create freedom. Not more rules.
What if you're not broken, just overwhelmed???

Imagine if all the energy spent fixing yourself was spent living your life instead.

Sometimes the most healing thing isn't adding another habit. It's doing less, consistently.

No wonder everyone feels overwhelmed. I don't blame people for thinking sometimes chicken nuggets turn into the most therapeutic thing at the time.

Most of us don't realise they're overstimulated because it feels normal.

These days, sitting on the couch watching TV without simultaneously scrolling, snacking, online shopping, thinking about work and if you're me probably create a to-do list or grocery list!

If we're honest, most of us can probably tick off at least a few of these!

Hey babes, your body has been waving red flags and filing complaints for years.

It probably started as:
- bloating and "sensitive digestion"
- some sleep "issues"
- needing a little extra coffee
- PMS that felt a bit worse than usual

Then it threw in:
- waking up exhausted
- the 3pm crash
- anxiety for no apparent reason
- being simultaneously tired and unable to switch off
- getting irrationally annoyed by people simply existing
- forgetting why you walked into a room
- feeling like you're running on fumes
- food reaction one after another..and new conditions every week: MCAS, POTS, SIBO, IBS, dizziness, and cravings like nothing else.

And the whole time you've been saying:
"I'm just busy."

Yeah maybe. But that's so 90s "soldier on" vibes.

Or maybe your physiology has been trying to get your attention for a while now.

Most of the time the missing piece isn’t another supplement. It’s about the environment your nervous system is trying to survive in.

So naturally, you cut more foods 🙃

Meanwhile your day looks like:
☕ coffee → chaos → no lunch → back-to-back → late dinner → scroll → repeat

But yes… let’s blame the bloody tomato 🍅

At some point it’s not the food anymore, it’s the fact your nervous system hasn’t exhaled in over a decade.

Sometimes it's hard to hear, but the answer doesn't lie within cutting out more foods.

Stop blaming your plate. 🍽️🍽️

We wonder why we're so tired... A high-performance life on low fuel 🤪. Our nervous systems getting hit from all angles!

👉Undereating → unstable blood sugar → cortisol spikes → energy crashes.

👉Overstimulation → constant alerts, decisions, noise → brain never switches off, body stays in stress mode.

So, here's your starting point for the new week:
🌻Eat like your energy matters.
🌻Create small pockets of quiet and zero input throughout the day...even if it's a few mins.
🌻Try to reduce the inputs before trying to increase all the outputs you want.

Remember more discipline won't fix a depleted system. ###

Do you feel safe when nothing is required of you? Can your nervous system actually land?

Hand on heart, I also struggle with downshifting.

I run appointments, meetings, workshops, solve problems, handle pressure and make decisions quickly.

But when the day ends, sometimes my body doesn't.

I know I'm off when I can't get to sleep or wake in the middle of the night.

You may also feel:
- wired
-scroll instead of switching off
- feel like you NEED coffee to function
- feel uneasy when you try to rest or slow down

This is sympathetic dominance: elevated cortisol, reduced parasympathetic tone, and a system that has learned that output = safety.

Landing is a biological process.

It requires:
- Lower sensory input
- Stable blood glucose
- Consistent circadian cues
- Repeated safety signals

You don't need another epsom salt bath.
