Love this post from the TGA about Vaccination Week β definitely worth a read! ππ
Itβs such a great reminder of how important vaccinations are in protecting not only ourselves, but our whole community. Staying up to date with your vaccines is one of the simplest and most effective ways to keep everyone safe π
Have a read and let us know if youβre due for any vaccinations β weβre always here to help!
Itβs World Immunization Week and World Health Organization (WHO) is reminding everyone that for every generation, vaccines work.
Vaccines are prescription medicines that protect you and those around you from serious and life-threatening diseases, such as measles, influenza or whooping cough.
There are some people in the community who cannot be vaccinated because they are too young or too sick. Widespread vaccination helps protect these people by making it more difficult for a disease to spread.
The TGA is responsible for assessing vaccines and other medicines before they can be used in Australia. We only register a vaccine for use in Australia if its benefits are much greater than its risks.
We also monitor vaccines for safety after they are supplied in Australia. If you experience an adverse event from a vaccine, you should seek assistance from a health professional and report the adverse event to the TGA.
Vaccines have been one of the most powerful tools in public health. Find out how π https://www.who.int/campaigns/world-immunization-week/2026/about-the-campaign
