Day 4 of Jean Hailes for Women's Health Women’s Health Week is to BREATHE.

Did you know that your pelvic floor naturally contracts and relaxes with your diaphragm and breath? The breath is what most people find really tricky to get right.

✨Exhale and squeeze

✨Inhale and release

Day 3 of Jean Hailes for Women's Health Women’s Health Week is to REST.

Sleep is one of the best things you can do for your health. Not only for rest and recovery, but also for nervous system regulation.

We generally need a little more of it, and it’s often the first thing we sacrifice when life gets busy!

Rest can also look like

Meditation 🧘

Reading a book 📖

Having a bath 🛁

Day 1 of Women’s Health Week is TO FUEL 🍇

As Women’s and Pelvic Health physio’s we are particularly interested in fueling your body for..

💩 happy bowels - hello fibre 🥝

🦴 strong bones - hello calcium 🧀

💪 muscle building & recovery - hello protein 🐠

We know that we should be eating the rainbow daily but sometimes it can all be a bit confusing.

Jean Hailes for Women's Health have some excellent, easy to understand, free resources on their website. If you need a little more help we would highly recommend working with a women’s naturopath or dietitian.

Now that we have your attention….

Swipe 👉

📚 Continence Foundation Australia

⏰ Regular bowel motions which can vary from 1-3 times per day to x3 per week. As pelvic physios we like you to be emptying daily!

🍌 Soft and easy to pass stool type, it should look like a sausage and be the consistency of a ripe banana

☺️Feeling like you have emptied fully , a good bowel motion should be really satisfying

✅Pain free, no straining and no bleeding

💩Able to hold for a short time after getting first urge

If you are experiencing symptoms of an unhappy bowel or ‘bowel dysfunction’ your pelvic health physio can help.

LET’S NORMALISE LUBRICANT!

It’s something Pelvic Health Physio’s LOVE talking about.

It’s a simple tool that can make things much more comfortable and enjoyable at any stage of life.

It can be especially helpful if you’re experiencing:

✨ Pelvic pain (such as vaginismus, vulvodynia, endo, adenyo, overactive pelvic floor)

🤍 Changes after birth (such as the hormone shift, scaring, pain,)

🌸 Postmenopausal v@ginal dryness

💛 Or if you simply want to reduce friction and improve comfort.

There are lots of options available, including water-based, oil-based, and silicone-based lubricants.

We recommend opting for a more natural base rather than anything with too many additives, to keep your v@ginal microbiome happy!

Our faves in clinic are
BIEN Pelvic Health
Olive & Bee
Überlube
