"Have you previously taken part in a Walk and Talk for Wellness session?

We are inviting current and previous participants to complete a short
survey about their experience of the program.

The survey is designed to help us better understand how Walk and Talk
is experienced, what works well, what could be improved, and how the
program is delivered from the participant perspective.

Participation is voluntary, the survey takes approximately 5-10
minutes, and responses are anonymous.

Walk and Talk welcomes Nilshikha (Nil) to our Botanic Gardens service, available for bookings at 8am, 9am, and 10am every Thursday ๐Ÿฅณ๐ŸŒณ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿšถ "Hi, I'm Nilshikha; you can call me Nil!. I am a final-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Psychological Science and a Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Griffith University. I am passionate about supporting people's wellbeing through genuine connection, empathy, and meaningful conversation. I believe everyone deserves to feel heard, respected, and valued, and that sometimes a simple walk and conversation in nature can make a meaningful difference to someone's day.

My goal is to create an atmosphere where you feel safe, supported, and comfortable being yourself. Whether you would like to talk through life's challenges, reflect on your experiences, or enjoy a walk with someone who will listen without judgement, I aim to provide a calm, welcoming space where you feel genuinely heard. I understand that reaching out for support can take courage, and I am committed to meeting you with kindness, compassion, and respect at every step.

Through my studies in psychology and criminology, along with my experience volunteering within the justice system and working in community-focused roles, I have developed strong communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills. These experiences have reinforced the importance of building trust, recognising that every person's journey is unique, and creating an environment where people feel comfortable sharing at their own pace. I look forward to walking alongside you, supporting your wellbeing, and helping create a positive and meaningful experience."

Walk and Talk welcomes Chelsea to the team ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿšถ๐ŸŒž "Hi, I'm Chelsea! I'm currently in my third year of a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) at Griffith University. I'd describe myself as a bubbly, curious, and empathetic person who genuinely loves connecting with others. Throughout my life I've lived in different parts of the world and worked in a variety of people-focused roles. No matter where I've been, it's never just been the work that has filled my cup... it's been the people I've met along the way. Whether it was a conversation with someone I'd only just met, a meaningful chat with a colleague, or simply sitting alongside someone during a difficult time, these moments continually reminded me of the incredible impact that genuine human connection can have. They ultimately led me to pursue psychology. I'm honoured to be a part of the Walk & Talk team, where I have the opportunity to walk alongside others in a relaxed, welcoming, and non-judgemental environment. My approach is person-centred and strengths-based, and I believe everyone deserves a space where they can simply be themselves. Whether you're looking for someone to share your thoughts with, work through life's ups and downs, or simply enjoy some company while getting outdoors, I'd love to walk alongside you. I believe there's something incredibly special about the combination of nature, movement, and meaningful conversation, and I look forward to meeting you." Chelsea is available for bookings every Thursday at Benowa Botanic Gardens at 8,9, or10am !! Bookings .com

It's an exciting month for new recruits, and now we welcome Ipsa ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿšถ๐ŸŒณ๐ŸŒณ

"Hi, Iโ€™m Ipsa. I am currently completing postgraduate counselling studies, with particular interests in grief, intergenerational patterns, immigrants and the mental health of older adults. My pathway into counselling began in clinical research in oncology, where I spent many years working closely with patients and families navigating diagnosis, treatment decisions, and uncertainty. This background has deeply shaped my respect for peopleโ€™s stories, resilience, and the importance of clear, compassionate communication in times of vulnerability.

My decision to join Walk and Talk for Wellness grew out of a belief that gentle movement, fresh air and compassionate conversation can create powerful shifts in how we feel and how we see our lives. I bring a warm and downโ€‘toโ€‘earth approach to my sessions, aiming to create a safe, nonโ€‘judgemental space where you can move at your own paceโ€”physically and emotionally.

Alongside my counselling training, I have a strong personal and academic interest in holistic wellness, including nutrition, which helps me understand how life transitions, health, and mood are often interconnected. I enjoy walking alongside people who may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of their next step, and working together to notice small shifts in perspective, selfโ€‘compassion and hope. Whether you prefer quiet reflection or talking things through, my focus is on supporting you to feel heard, respected and empowered in the beautiful natural spaces we walk in together."
