Our residents embarked on a fantastic cycling adventure with non-for-profit charity Cycling Without Age at Paradise Point. There’s something special about seeing things from a trishaw bike and enjoying a change of scenery along with the fresh air. A huge thank you to the wonderful volunteers at Cycling Without Age who give their time to make these outings possible. Your generosity helps create moments our residents, and many others, can enjoy and remember. There are many scientific studies that show enriching people’s everyday environment with stimulating activities and social engagement has several psychological and cognitive benefits, especially for the elderly, which is why the Odyssey lifestyle calendar is always brimming with opportunities.

Our residents dressed up in their finest masks for a fabulous masquerade luncheon at Odyssey Robina, complete with delicious food, dancing and of course, excellent company. Attendees enjoyed a three-course menu featuring pistachio dusted barramundi, chargrilled prime beef fillet and a decadent butterscotch, orange and walnut pudding to finish. It’s wonderful to see so many family members and friends join us for these occasions, something that always adds to the atmosphere and makes it a truly special afternoon. Events such as this are all about bringing people together, sharing laughs, conversation and creating new memories and there were certainly plenty of those made at this themed luncheon.

The skybridge of Odyssey Robina’s fourth and final tower Biarritz has been installed connecting the new building to Malibu. As seen on 9 News Gold Coast, it was an exciting and interesting sight to see and also a major step forward. Biarritz is continuing to take shape with scaffolding starting to come down, a great indication the project is nearing completion. Built by Mettle, Biarritz will deliver an additional 68 apartments and a suite of amenities including a bocce green, outdoor areas, cinema, gym, areas for doctors, physiotherapists and other allied health disciplines, a hairdresser and more.

We are beyond excited to share that Odyssey has officially been named the 2026 National Apartment Awards for Excellence in Ageing in Place and Innovation – Australian Champion! 🏆 Following our win at the Queensland Awards for Chevron Island, Odyssey was invited to attend the 29th floor of Crown Melbourne for the National Apartment Awards. It was a fantastic evening filled with plenty of laughs and celebratory moments, including a great performance from comedian Rob Shehadie from Fat Pizza. Odyssey’s Head of Maintenance Mike Hamer had the pleasure of representing Odyssey at the event and accepting the award on behalf of the team, as we were crowned the best in Australia.

This is an incredible achievement, and the recognition reflects the fantastic work happening across Odyssey, the team and the continued commitment and effort everyone puts into what we do. Odyssey is incredibly proud of this achievement, and it is exciting to see what comes next for Hope Island.

This morning, we welcomed a wonderful group of students from Okinawa to Odyssey Chevron Island. Our guests had the chance to meet our residents over morning tea, share stories and learn more about each other's culture before getting creative with an art origami session. This was a lovely intergenerational and intercultural experience, with lots of conversation, laughter and smiles!
