✨What a huge day of learning, networking and connection in Sydney today!

I was incredibly grateful to attend the Continence Health Australia NSW Professional Development Day as their scholarship recipient. It was such a valuable opportunity to learn from others working across continence care, hear about current practice and scientific developments, and connect with some wonderful health professionals from across the sector.

Days like today are such a great reminder of how important it is to keep learning, sharing knowledge and bringing that knowledge back to the people and communities we support rurally.

A very big thank you to Continence Health Australia for hosting me and for the opportunity to attend. I’m heading home with lots of new knowledge, ideas and inspiration to bring back to Empower Nursing Services. 💙

Australia has the highest rates of early-onset bowel cancer in the world, with the number of young Australians diagnosed with bowel cancer expected to double approximately every 20 years if current trends continue.

The traditional risk factors for bowel cancer development do not seem to apply to younger patients. It is a new disease.

Donations received today will enable Bowel Cancer Australia to fund promising, high-impact, early-onset bowel cancer research endeavours to help improve our knowledge and understanding of this disease.
