I’m Elaine, the creative brain and the scientist behind Melvory Skincare. I’m a Pharmacist, Skincare Formulator, nature lover and mum of 3 cheeky kids + 6 chooks 🐓

I’m so happy you found us! We are a small family business based in Adelaide. I started making organic body butter for my 2

girls when they were babies and battling itchy, dry and rashy skin. They reacted to many brands of store-bought creams and after months of crying, bleeding sheets and sleepless nights, I decided to combine my pharmaceutical knowledge and the best of natural plant oils and butters to create a soothing cream for my babies. It was a relief for the whole family when their skin started to improve and was cleared of red, itchy rashes. I then made 3 tubs to give to my friends, who also found that their babies’ skin got better really quickly. One of their posts went viral on Facebook and before I knew it, we had hundreds of mums contacting me on Facebook wanting to buy a tub 😱

So I started the business with just $80 in my account, making a few tubs at a time, while being a mum to my children. The positive reviews just kept rolling in. The demand for pure and trusted Melvory products has grown so much since then, we now have over 30 different products in store - from cleansers, serums, creams and even lipsticks! All our products are pregnancy and breastfeeding safe 😊

The heartbeat of Melvory Skincare is compassion. Compassion for your skin battles, compassion for a parent’s heartache when they see their child covered in red patches, and also compassion for many hungry and homeless children living in poverty. So everytime you place an order with us, you help us send 10 meals to a child in Kenya. To date, through the support of our customers we have donated over 260,000 meals to children in Kenya 👏

Behind the brand you know today is a story that started much closer to home.

10 years ago, I wasn’t trying to build a skincare company. I was simply a mum and pharmacist who wanted to create something I could trust for my own children.

That first rescue butter was made with one purpose: to care for delicate skin with gentle, natural ingredients I felt confident using on my family.

I never imagined that one little jar would grow into a full range of Australian-made skincare, a team I’m so proud of, and a community of families who now trust Melvory in their homes.

When I look at Melvory today, it’s hard to believe it started with a simple desire to create something I could trust for my own family.

What makes me most proud isn’t just how much we’ve grown, but that we’ve been able to grow while staying true to the values we started with.

When I was waiting for my results, one thought made me cry every single time…

How much would my kids miss me?

I imagined their sadness. Their grief. How could my kids grow up without their mum?

Now that I know it’s benign, it’s easy to look back and think… gosh, my mind went FAR.

But I didn’t know that then.

And if you’ve ever had thoughts like this while waiting for medical results, you’re not dramatic or overly emotional.

You’re human.

Sometimes we’re terrified of leaving this life because we suddenly realise how many people are in it who love us… and how many people we have been given to love. 🥹

I also came out of this incredibly grateful for the healthcare we have in Australia.

The breast clinic honestly felt more like a spa 😂 Calming music, tea and coffee… even a cute little kimono to wear.

Also for anyone scared of having a biopsy… it was honestly hardly painful. A little uncomfortable and it took about 10 minutes. I was sore for 2 days and then completely fine. The doctor and nurses were so kind, empathetic and professional, which made the whole experience much less scary

And a big thank you to my friend Claudia, who booked herself in so we could have a mammogram date together. 🥰

If there’s one thing I hope you take from this post:

Please do your routine breast checks and screening when you’re eligible.

We’re so lucky to have access to free breast screening for eligible women in Australia.

Early detection matters.

After all the crying, overthinking and imagining every possible outcome…

I got the word I was desperately hoping for.

Benign. 😭❤️

Life will go back to normal now. My kids will fight. I’ll get annoyed. I’ll complain about stupid things. 😂

But I hope I don’t forget what these few days showed me.

I spent so much time thinking about everything I could lose…

Instead, I came out realising, just exactly how much I have been given to love. 🥹❤️
