Join them as they reveal what’s inside, share how these tools can be used to support communication, language, speech and literacy goals, and explain why Speech Pathologists get just a little bit excited about new therapy resources. 😅

Now if anyone asks, we’ve always had these resources… 👀

Ever wondered what an Occupational Therapist (OT) actually does? 🤔

It’s one of the most commonly misunderstood allied health professions, and it’s easy to see why! While OTs don’t usually focus on speech, fitness, or medical treatment, they do help people build the skills they need to participate in everyday life.

From fine motor skills and handwriting ✏️ to self-care routines 🪥, emotional regulation 💙, sensory processing 🌈, play skills 🧩, social interaction 👥, and independence at home, school, work, or in the community - OTs support people to do the things that matter most to them.

In this post, we’ve highlighted just some of the many areas Occupational Therapists can help develop. Every person’s goals are unique, and OT interventions are tailored to support meaningful participation in daily life.

🚶‍♀️ For Exercise Right Week, we asked our community a simple question:

What’s your favourite exercise?

The answers were varied, with everything from swimming and Pilates to deadlifts, lunges, shoulder presses, squats and bench press making the list. But one exercise stood above the rest…

🥇 Walking took out the top spot, receiving 33% of all responses!

And honestly, it’s easy to see why. Walking is accessible, low impact, requires minimal equipment, and can be easily incorporated into everyday life. Research also shows that regular walking can support cardiovascular health, improve mental wellbeing, boost energy levels, and help maintain overall physical function.

If you’re not sure where to begin your exercise journey, start with a walk. Every step counts.

Need guidance on how to exercise safely and effectively for your goals? Our Exercise Physiologists are here to help you build confidence and create a plan that’s right for you.

Our Exercise Physiologists Bailey and Jai recently had the privilege of working with the Salisbury Football Club Inclusive Men’s team, helping assess their strength and conditioning as part of their season preparations. 💪🏉

It was inspiring to see the dedication, determination, and effort each player brought to the testing sessions. The team embraced every challenge, gave it their all, and showcased the true spirit of sport and inclusion.

Now that the season is underway, we’re excited to continue working alongside the players and coaching staff, supporting their development and celebrating their achievements throughout the year.

We wish the entire team the very best for the season ahead and look forward to seeing what they accomplish on and off the field! 👏

Some fun in the AWS gym, with our eyes closed 🫣

We handed the team random gym equipment from around AWS and somehow… they were alarmingly good at guessing them 😂
Meanwhile Dom was getting stitched up with the most random items possible - including ONE very large repeat offender making multiple appearances throughout the game 💀

And just wait for the special item at the end… 🤝
