📢The maternal respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine is available for those eligible under the National Immunisation Program.

âś… The vaccine is recommended between 28 and 36 weeks of pregnancy.
âś… Available for free from 28 weeks, if you hold or are eligible for a Medicare card.
âś… Protects newborn babies from RSV, a leading cause of infant hospitalisation.

++ UPDATE++ The Queensland Nasal Spray Flu Immunisation Program has been updated to include children 6 to 17 years. FluMist Nasal Spray will be free in 2026 for all children aged 2 to 17 years (inclusive). The nasal spray influenza vaccine is given as a quick, painless spray into the nose by our experienced nurses. No needles are used.

Who is eligible?
6 months to 5 years,
65+years,
6 years to 64 years with these underlying medical conditions:
cardiac disease
chronic respiratory conditions
immunocompromising conditions
hematological disorders
chronic metabolic disorder
chronic kidney disease
chronic neurological condition
long term aspirin therapy in children aged 5 to 10 years.

Salisbury Medical Centre has flu vaccines available now for 65+ years. We are holding flu vaccination clinics on 9 April, 13 April & 14 April. Please call reception on 3277 1621 to make a booking.

Unexpected injuries and illnesses can be a serious setback to holidays and weekend plans.

If you have something that can’t wait for a regular GP appointment but doesn’t need a trip to the hospital, that’s a case for a Medicare Urgent Care Clinic.

Urgent care is when you have an illness or injury that needs medical attention the same day, but isn’t life threatening.

Things that may need urgent medical care include:
