Hello, I’m Miriam Young, Clinical Herbalist with 28 years in practice.

This was my breakfast this morning. All organic. 🌿

1 X piece kamut toast
Butter 🧈
Quark
Topped with 2 X eggs
Sea salt and chilli 🌶️
On the side was cucumber
Horse radish and spirulina sour kraut
Asparagus and more butter.

Eaten at 10am in line with the intermittent fasting 16 hour window. 🌞

High fat and protein, low carb, still with plenty of fibre and nutrient dense. And delicious! 😋

I am so excited to announce I am now offering Ma'at Healing Therapy, to complement my Herbal & Counselling Practice.
For 27 years, I have guided people through profound transformation as a Dynamic Healer, Spiritual Counsellor, and Medical Herbalist.
Yet no matter what the dis-ease in the human body, it always has a mental, emotional and energetic counterpart. The most exciting thing about Ma’at Healing Technique to me, is its ability to reduce stress, anxiety and pain. Unless the energetic pattern of disease or discomfort is restored, initial healing may only been temporary.
Stress = Illness and this is the level at which Ma’at heals - right at the cause, bringing back true balance.

A groundbreaking study from Wuhan University is turning everything we thought we knew about Parkinson’s disease upside down. Researchers now believe the disease may not start in the brain at all, but in the kidneys.

The study found abnormal clusters of alpha-synuclein (α-Syn) proteins, the same ones heavily linked to Parkinson’s, inside the kidneys of affected patients. These proteins are known to trigger neurological damage when they build up in the brain. However, in animal experiments, healthy kidneys successfully cleared these proteins. When kidney function was impaired, the α-Syn proteins began to travel to the brain, setting the stage for Parkinson’s.

Shockingly, even people with chronic kidney disease but no neurological symptoms were found to have α-Syn buildup. This discovery suggests the kidneys might act as an early “reservoir” for toxic proteins, which could later spread through the bloodstream or nerves and affect the brain.

Though early and based on limited data, this research could completely change how we understand and treat Parkinson’s. It raises the possibility that monitoring and protecting kidney health might one day help prevent or delay the onset of this devastating condition.

I received a lovely email from a happy client this week.

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a digestive condition that occurs when stomach contents flow into the esophagus. This is also known as acid reflux.

Symptoms include heartburn, a burning feeling in the chest
regurgitating sour or bitter liquid into the mouth or throat, non-burning chest pain, difficulty swallowing, coughing, shortness of breath, and/or increased salivation. Up to 3 million Australians suffer from this condition. annually.

The symptoms are typically treated with Somac, yet long term use can lead to kidney disease, cardiac issues and liver disease to name but a few. Somac does not address the underlying cause of GERD.

"Dear Miriam, Thank you for helping me fix my gut . I had a comercial drivers medical on Wednesday. Told the doctor I had been taking somac 40mg daily for the past 20yrs plus .

But no more as I have had a number of consults with a Medical Herbalist and I'm now taking only 1 40mg tablet every three weeks, he was impressed at the turn around and said to keep it up".

Phill is about half way through treatment now. 🙂
